    Just finished my fourth batch

    Finished my fourth batch it was a basic pale ale. It stinks but tast good what could cause this? I used the same steps as the first three but on this one I add the extract at the end say with like 20 mins left in the boil instead of the beginning. I read of other people doing this on this forum...

    What is the most forgiving ale yeast? You know something that will be able to handle a noobie mistake if one where to come up. Or won't have a problem in a 70° apartment (no basement)?

    I was in sandiago and there was an Ipa brewed by a firehall that was great and the proceeds went to family's of fire fighters who died in duty. You might find it in La since they are pretty close. Also enjoyed the beers from mission brewery.

    Help! Brewing Failures again and again

    I agree with starting with basic ales, I also made a filter for my tape water. Got a 24 ounce water bottle put small holes in the bottom lined it floss media then filled almost full with with carbon from a pet store. Works great haven't bought bottled water yet.

    First Batch Problem

    So what if I mixed the sugar in a small amount of hot water first so it desolves. Then put it into the bucket and put the beer ontop of that? Then mixed it would that help?

    Ok so just bottled my first batch. I put the priming sugars into the bottleing bucket then put my ferminted beer into the bucket so the sugars would mix well with the beer. Then bottled let sit for a few weeks at room temp in the bottles. I just went through a six pack the first 3 where awsome...
