    Hop Guide

Cool app, easy to use. I was not aware of how many varieties of Hallertau there are.

    Kegerator, Keezer, or Other?

One more negative of a kegerator is the lack of room for storing ingredients and a yeast bank. If I brewed more frequently I would need something bigger.

    Kegerator, Keezer, or Other?

I have a dual tap kegerator and wish I had capacity for additional kegs. There are quite a few reasons I don't want a keezer, most already discussed by @rawlus. I do like the idea of using a full size fridge with the taps through the door. It should handle 4 cornies nicely. I really like the...

    Low efficiency with malted corn

Why not use flaked corn instead of malted corn? I've used it in several recipes with no drop in efficiency. It doesn't require a cereal mash or milling. It's quite easy to use.

What size tubing are you using?

Troubleshooting Leaking Duotight Flow Control QDs

It's important to get a straigt cut on the tubing with push fittings. These were cheap and do a nice job. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-PVC-Pipe-Cutter/5003750421 I only use EVA barrier lines on the liquid side and have no leaks. I haven't found a need to convert my gas lines yet.

    Low efficiency with malted corn

I've never used malted corn in a recipe, but just trying to get the conversation started. How did you mill it? I would imagine you would need a few passes each with a smaller gap to get it small enough to convert in a 60 minute mash.

Kegerator Rebuild : Replace with all new components

If switching the design to a draft tower as @rawlus suggested, you would want to add a tower cooling fan. These are standard on True and Bev-Air units, and some higher end residential units. Draft towers can be an artistic expression as well. Do an Internet search and you'll find some...

Kegerator Rebuild : Replace with all new components

I think what makes a True or Bev-Air unit better is the quality of the refrigeration unit. Beer lines and taps are standard and upgradable on all units. If building from scratch, use EVA Barrier beer and gas lines with push to connect fittings such as Duotight. Also upgrade your taps to a...

homemade carbonation solution for hard seltzer?

The SodaStream website says that a 410 gram co2 tank makes 60 liters of seltzer. That's about 6.8 grams per liter. Then a 16 gram co2 cartridge should carbonate 2.35 liters of cocktails. At around $2.00 a cartridge, that can get pricey. I guess it really matters how many martinis he making...

homemade carbonation solution for hard seltzer?

@Hoppy2bmerry posted the most reasonable solution for what the OP is looking to accomplish.

homemade carbonation solution for hard seltzer?

I tried to carbonate beer in a SodaStream once. Learned my lesson really quick after cleaning that mess up.

    Esters and fusels

I started fermenting in my basement with no temp control and always had off flavors. Once I bought a mini fridge on Craigslist and an Inkbird temperature controller I really noticed improvement. I would say get your temp under control first, then if the off flavors continue start looking at...

    Esters and fusels

Are you controlling fermentation temperature? Sounds like you're fermenting too warm. Edit: Sorry! How are you measuring and controlling your fermentation temperature?

    Acquiring a used smaller fridge

Also, it would help to incorporate a small PC or desk fan to circulate the air. This will help cool the chamber evenly and could help with mild condensation.

    Acquiring a used smaller fridge

Probably not. If you look at the pic in step 7, he didn't cover the fridge with foam, he just went far enough back to seal off the chamber. And from what I see, the entire back of the fridge is open. Should work out well. It's not a cheap build, but it looks solid. Definitely post pics when...

That's a nice build. I'm sure it will work well for you.

    Acquiring a used smaller fridge

The sides heat up too. They need airflow so the compressor doesn't overheat. https://illjustfixitmyself.com/why-is-mini-fridge-hot-on-the-sides-outside/

    Acquiring a used smaller fridge

However you do your build, just don't encase the fridge. The fridge creates heat. You don't want that mixing with your cooled air.

    Acquiring a used smaller fridge

I've seen users add a collar to a mini fridge, similar to the way a collar is added to a keezer. Could be an easier build than boxing in the fridge.
