I have a laser engraver... now what?

Custom bottle labels etched onto the bottles!!!!!! With permanently laser etched labels you wont have to clean them off, but cant change them. I would just etch my brewery logo onto the bottle and mark the beer type on the cap, would be great for gifts.

    Air cooled beer line question...

http://www.rapidswholesale.com/resources/beer_guide4.shtml According to this site they have the beer lines in the cold shaft, which makes the most sense as you want your beer to be cold. This pic also shows that

    Does DIY Glycol really work?

For a short run with minimum turns you may want to consider air cooled lines. You could purchase the blowers and pipes commercially or homebrew it. A PVC pipe within a pipe powered by a blower in a freezer might be strong enough.

How do folks reduce their brewing time

I set up two hot water urns on a timer the night before so they are hot (190deg) by the time I wake up to brew.

Any Cigar, or Pipe Smokers out there?

Although I enjoy cigars, I avoid smoking while drinking beer or wine as I find that it masks the flavor of the beverage.

    Money saved?

One thing I learnt from brewing beer is that this is not the hobby to save money.

Wow, who knew a bucket was so expensive?!

I use a poland spring container. I am aware of the myth of "micro oxidation", but I think its just a marketing ploy started by better bottle.

    What the heck is this?

As long as we are all guessing this Yankee thinks that its use is that of a mash paddle while its intended use is that of a Confederate cracklin skimmer.

    Dual purpose kettle? (5/10 gallon)

If you can boil 10 gallons of wort in a 15 gallon keggle logic dictates you could also boil 5 gallons of wort in that same keg!!!
  16. JewBrew

Did I screw up my keggle?

Do that and next time you brew you wont even get to smell the hops before you die. See the link below. Any sealed air pocket in a keg will burst when the air inside of it gets heated. http://forum.northernbrewer.com/viewtopic.php?t=44238

    Rubber stopper

Cover it loosely with a rubber band an plastic wrap or tin foil. You could always go with the old fashioned hole-in-a-balloon air lock.
  18. JewBrew

Did I screw up my keggle?

Your keg is ruined ill recycle it for you, but if you decide to keep it.... You should not have a problem with a long dip tube (think of it like a siphon). What you could do is install a thermometer in that hole and make a new hole for the dip tube

    Rice hulls question

IMHO mix the rice hulls in. When you vorlof the rice hulls will gradually shift into position forming the grain bed. Whichever way you go will not lead to drastic changes in your brew. Let us argue on more controversial issues on whether or not to secondary.
