I have a milk stout in the pipeline right now and I'm planning on adding the lactose in the same manner, right before kegging....course I didn't have the lactose on hand when I brewed but it's no big deal either way.

I'm already out from the last one and making arrangements to hold over 'till the next rolls around :)

It's something that in retrospect, I should have done a long time ago....and I never really minded bottling. Kegging is just so much easier and having the ability to dispense the exact amount of beer at the temp and carb level you want at the pull of a handle is just excellent.

Plus IIRC they discuss where they believe the clone went wrong and what changes they would make for the re-brew.....about the only thing more they could do is come to your house and brew it for you. And, I second the suggestion to oak that bastard!

I can only speak to my experience but I made a chocolate chili porter that took several months for the flavors to really come together. It basically went from unbearable to really tasty over the last week of that several months.

Yes, I steeped tea bags after flame out for five minutes and it worked quite nice.

If you check the front page of Jack's site, it's updated with an email from Tom Peters who says they will be open late today or Tuesday...though, Jack later mentions the Friday reassessment as a possible problem with that plan: Jack Curtin’s LIQUID DIET either way, it's a real tragedy...

They said on the news last night that they were only closed temporarily. The residents of the building also had to temporarily relocate while the building's owner makes the appropriate repairs. Course, the building owner(s) is going to have a big lawsuit on their hands with this one.

Table sugar works just fine and is prb even more convenient and easier to use than the invert syrup.
