    Big milestone

The key now is to get her to brew. My girlfriend wanted to make a cherry wheat, so we got the ingredients, and she managed the sanitizing, boiling, and hop additions etc. She loved it, and is already talking about our next brew day. It is pretty awesome when SWMBO is just as excited to brew as I am.

I didn't say I wasn't fixing it, I was just bitching that it had to happen today, its going to push my schedule back a couple of hours.

    stupid car

The serpentine belt snapped because the water pump siezed. It wouldn't be such a tragedy if I wasn't on the way to brew with my girlfriend. There goes the cherry wheat

So I decided to set up a beer blog. I'm going to try to review commercial beers, and my homebrews. Let me know what you think, and if i'm wrong about a beer, feel free to correct me. http://isitgoodbeer.blogspot.com/

    Music was better Then

So i'm 23, and I have to say, I think music peaked from '65- '80. We just celebrated my Dad's 51st birthday with a couple of homebrews, and singing along to every single song on Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme. I'm sorry, but except for Pearl Jam and Dave Matthews, what has music brought to...

    Just drank some bud light

It all has it's time and place. New Years isn't a bad time to have Bud Light, considering how much of the stuff is consumed. Granted, my gf and I had Ommegang, because I can't stand the ****ty stuff. But still, it does serve a purpose.

    Last time I drank Tequila...

4 years ago, two friends and I decided to have a tequila night. We each bought a bottle, downed before we went out, and hit the road for a good night. I woke up in apartment in a building i had never been before, on their couch, clothes on, with empty beer bottles being pelted at me. I got out...

    First 5 Gallon batch

I have the house to myself tonight, which leaves me plenty of time to clean up before anyone else steps foot in the kitchen. I find that people complain more about the smell i create than the mess i leave behind. I guess that means my cleaning skills are up to snuff. Or else my family thinks...

    First 5 Gallon batch

I can't find out how slippery it is until i take that first step over the side. I just sanitized for over an hour and i have finally started steeping my grains in my brew pot. Loving every second of it so far. There is so much more to do with this kind of brewing, I already feel much more...

    First 5 Gallon batch

Mr. Beer taught me a lot. My beer has gone from watery, over or under carbonated junk, to a palatable, tasty, but still lacking that little something brew. So i decided to step it up. I am brewing an Irish red ale kit from my local homebrew store, got directions from them, used the yeast they...

    First 5 Gallon batch

I finally made the step up from Mr. Beer recipes to a kit set up for me by my lhbs. I got myself a glass carboy, a recipe from the home brew shop, a new bottle of star san, the works. Got off of work today, and i am heading home to brew a 5 gallon batch for the first time. I'm more excited than...
