    Refractometer advice

I'm hoping someone here can help with a suggestion. I'm using a refractometer from BobbyM and I'm finding that the reading for my fermented beer is very different from the reading with my hydrometer (and yes I did use the correction formula). For example, a recent batch reads an FG of 1.010...

WTB: Immersion Chiller / HERMS Coil

Not sure how the price compares to buying material and sourcing it, but I'm using these http://www.midwestsupplies.com/stainless-steel-immersion-wort-chiller-w-garden-hose-fittings-50-ft.html. I liked the SS plus it's 1/2".

    Brewers Equipment Review

Final update. I finally untangled completely from Marcus. Thanks to American Express I got a refund for my purchase and am ready to take my money elsewhere. Biggest lesson for me is don't use cash backed Paypal for any purchase above $50. Good luck to all the rest of you trying to get your...

    Brewers Equipment Review

Just an update on my saga for those who are following the thread. Finally, after working through Paypal and American Express to dispute the charge, Marcus shipped the order. However, when I inspected the box, there were several items missing. Small things like legs, caster and pumps. Needless...

    Brewers Equipment Review

I am in a similar position. I ordered from Marcus on July 19th and started requesting updates after 5 weeks. After 6 weeks of 'I'll have a tracking number for you next week' but with no progress, I stepped up the requests and have so far gotten nowhere. If my order doesn't ship by the end of...

    Thermometer and probe combined

Does anyone know of a combined thermometer with a gauge and a probe? I think it would be a great addition to a BCS type setup which would allow you a quick visual check of temps without the computer screen.

    Weihenstephaner Korbinian recipe anyone?

I know it's an old thread, but if you're still subscribed, how did the beer turn out? what was your mash schedule? I want to make this. Thx.

    Sight gauge on MLT

Thanks, that seems like a good simple way to go. Time to hit the hardware store.

    Sight gauge on MLT

I've got a 1/2" coupling welded half into the MLT, the outer half connects to the usual compression fitting for the sight glass, the inner half is available. Is that workable? maybe a hex nipple with a mesh screen soldered onto it?

    Sight gauge on MLT

Hi, I'm thinking of putting a sight gauge on my keggle MLT to measure strike water and to make sparging flow control easier. Is this a good idea? If I do go this route, any ideas on a filter or strainer for the fitting (1/2") that will help keep various particles from the sight gauge tube...

WTB: Stainless Chiller 50' Coil - 1/2" OD

I contacted NYBrewsupply and they weren't willing to do it. I got the same info from Midwest so hopefully tomorrow the problem will be solved.

WTB: Stainless Chiller 50' Coil - 1/2" OD

Hi all, Since Midwest Supplies has been out of stock on their SS chiller coil for quite a while, I'm looking for another source. If anyone is able/willing to do the work to coil/bend the SS (which can be picked up from nybrewsupply.com, please let me know (PM or reply with price would be fine)...

    Stainless Camlocks review

More info from the vendor: he can also do a 3/4" barb on the same part (cost $9.58). The 3/4" bore has an ID of 19/32. He doesn't have a 5/8 in stock to check but based on the other numbers I'd guess it's slightly smaller than 1/2", probably 15/32".

    Stainless Camlocks review

It's essentially this part:http://cgi.ebay.com/90-HOSE-BARB-1-2-ID-X-1-2-MPT-HEX-BREWING-316-HB628-/200508042570?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eaf35ed4a#ht_2347wt_905 but instead of 1/2"x1/2", it will be 1/2" x 5/8" barb.
