1/4" beer line with oxebar keg in regular fridge - Length/foam issues

So this is a pour through the 10m Already now a min later it has settled quite a bit but would not call it too much carbonated anymore at this point (if it ever was). Here is the full setup Serving pressure 10psi and temperature in the fridge is around 5 deg C. I have a thermometer in...

1/4" beer line with oxebar keg in regular fridge - Length/foam issues

Interesting name for the adapter... Think it is the store's own made up name tbh. I would use it to connect my picnik tap to the hose. I have one like it already but for 9.5mm hoses. And yea, I don't even have a floating dip tube so can't be that :P I simply got one of these, . They are diptubes...

1/4" beer line with oxebar keg in regular fridge - Length/foam issues

Agreed. I did expect a bigger difference. Never used these pic nik taps (or any tap for that matter) before so not sure how you are supposed to use them but I could pore a glass full and demonstrate in a picture if that helps. Sligtly better yes but I did expect more of a dramatic improvement...

1/4" beer line with oxebar keg in regular fridge - Length/foam issues

Looks like the 3mm line is quite hard to come by for me. Can't even find it on Aliexpress. My current plan is the following which I manage to get all from one place: That should cover everything I need to replace. the picnik tap goes into the "pluto gun" (never head that before) and the rest is...

1/4" beer line with oxebar keg in regular fridge - Length/foam issues

Just tried running the beer through all of my remaining 1/4" tubing, about 10m or so. Still foamy af, no matter how carefully I try the picnik tap. Also tried going below 10psi but no change.. The height difference, as mentioned, close 0 so not winning anything there. Looked into the flow...

1/4" beer line with oxebar keg in regular fridge - Length/foam issues

Aliexpress official Kegland account has 4L kegs, and other retailers are getting them in Europe now too. Saw my local online store was getting them now too, "soon". Honestly, regarding the tubing, I just made myself a kit with the connections available from the store and hose that went with...

1/4" beer line with oxebar keg in regular fridge - Length/foam issues

So I recently got myself a 4L oxebar keg as it is the only keg size I can fit in my apartment fridge. With it I got 12m of 1/4" (6.3mm) ID gas/beer line with duotight fittings for that size. I just tried pouring my first half glass and it is pretty much all foam, of course logically, as I have...

Feedback/Critique for my "Kitchen Sink" IPA - Empty my fridge

Yea tell me about it. It was at FG already last night :O Threw in dry hops today, apparently I had about 4 grams less than I expected, but nothing to do about that, it will make beer. Yea blow off tube was not needed. Never had to add yeast for bottling before so I might just hope for the best...

Feedback/Critique for my "Kitchen Sink" IPA - Empty my fridge

Today was brewday. Everything wen't quite smoothly, though I somehow missed my OG by around 5 points... I might still have my equipment profile a bit off, feels like my boil off is less than expected all the time, though I have already lowered it by about a litre from the default... Another...

Feedback/Critique for my "Kitchen Sink" IPA - Empty my fridge

Okay, thank you both :) I think we are getting close to the final recipe. It's not like this is the most serious beer I've ever made so let's go with both your tips. Dropping NB from DH and doing dry hop all cascade and putting all the Centennial in the hop stand. I will also throw in the last...

Feedback/Critique for my "Kitchen Sink" IPA - Empty my fridge

Yes of course, I meant 3 different simultaneous for 10min. Sorry. It is European (Germany) :) My third revision of the recipe: Brewfather I took a lot of your good advice and tried to combine them as I saw fit. I reduced the batch size to 10L and dropped the crystal alltogether as per...

Feedback/Critique for my "Kitchen Sink" IPA - Empty my fridge

It is more like 22 C, the 20 C in the recipe is from a standard profile in brewfather. I have used US-05 to ferment here many many times though, and always been pleased with the result. Might be I have never had the pleasure of fermenting US-05 much colder so I would not know the difference :P...

Feedback/Critique for my "Kitchen Sink" IPA - Empty my fridge

Simply looking for opinions on tweaks, and improvements on my, so called, "kitchen sink IPA". Basically I am looking to empty my fridge of hops. I don't have any malts in storage so that part is quite freely tweakable. Same goes for yeast and water additions. Some context about my setup: -...

Harvesting dry yeast (Lutra) - Is it worth it?

Haha yep. Outside car parks are not unusual here. And yes engine warmers as well as cabin heaters are almost a given here (when you buy a car you pretty much assume it's got an engine heater pre-installed), though not all houses' parkings provide outlets so some have to start their cars cold...

Harvesting dry yeast (Lutra) - Is it worth it?

Nope. We have the pleasure (though not in the case of brewing) of having the storage as warm as the rest of the building. So no inside space is cold in our building. Rather new building, so I guess that's why the "old school" cold storage spaces can't be found. Additionally we don't have a...

Harvesting dry yeast (Lutra) - Is it worth it?

So are you saying you also throw in the "yeast residue"? I thought that once the slurry settles in the jars it will be kind of three layers, beer, yeast, residue? I may of course have misunderstood something as I am new to this though. And one jar is enough? This method of yours seems to be the...

Harvesting dry yeast (Lutra) - Is it worth it?

Haha I feel this thread has gone a bit off topic but let me assess the tips and questions that have arisen. The reason I used this rather expensive Lutra this time was because I, like many others, wanted to try a pseudo lager with it. Our inside temp is rather high, and we cannot affect it...

Harvesting dry yeast (Lutra) - Is it worth it?

Yes I have considered our Swedish neighbours, though their prices, at least from the stores I have checked, are even slightly more expensive + the probably larger shipping fee. So that too is not feasible :/ Though good to hear that harvesting is not an impossibility... I have never done it...

Harvesting dry yeast (Lutra) - Is it worth it?

So I am currently fermenting my first ever beer using Lutra Kveik. The reason it is my first ever is because of the price per packet for Lutra available in Finland. There is only one single home brew store in the country which imports it and they're selling for 10€/pkt (roughly 10USD nowadays)...

Chill haze in bottle conditioned beer

I assume that is one of the last ones. Hmm perhaps the foam thingy does something after all 😅
