    Should I rack to secondary

So in summary, you don’t need a secondary unless you need to clarify or age.

    Craigslist Kegerator

I use one of theses on my keezer. Its a no brainer to set and forget. I leave the probe in a glass of water. https://www.amazon.ca/Inkbird-Temperature-Controller-Thermostat-Thermostats/dp/B01GZT2Y5I/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=inkbird+thermostat&qid=1619391503&sr=8-6

    First keezer build

Awesome use of colour! I used weather stripping around mine and found the seal to be sufficient. I don't use a fan, but I do get condensation at the bottom. I just mop it up after a while.

Mounting my drip tray to keezer

Doesn't it just cheese you off when someone posts the first time they try something and they do it better than everyone before them? Anyhow, that looks great! How much clearance is there? Usual measurements I've seen are from the center of the shank to the top of the tray.

    Should I rack to secondary

I’ll try a ‘sealed’ transfer using gravity and the bottling bucket nozzle to the liquid post. Then just lift the bung and commence flow. There should be a cushion of CO2 above the beer in the bucket. I don’t have another bucket to test with water, but it should be straightforward enough.

    Should I rack to secondary

Sounds like work. I already have an auto-siphon, but it would be good to have the knowledge to start one without regardless. Eg, my auto-siphon doesn’t fit my little 1gal experiments. I have bottling buckets, but I found the auto-siphon easier. Good on filling a keg through the liquid out post...

    Should I rack to secondary

Not to de-rail... but how do you start a siphoning without an auto siphon? I’ve been doing exactly the same as IslandLizard above. YouTube helps. But I don’t get how you start the initial vacuum unless you want to use your lips and ... spoil the batch. Soak your lips in starsan? Lol I really...

    Should I rack to secondary

I have never done a secondary. My longest primary was an experimental 1gal cider I had started 02/11 and racked last night. It seems fine. Don’t you get sediment from priming bottles? I gave that up early on and moved to kegging. Instead of priming, you chill/age in the keg. Chuck the first...

Mounting my drip tray to keezer

I'll give that a go. I have a few magnets. I just have to order the trays.

Mounting my drip tray to keezer

Wouldn't that draw a bunch of current and generate heat? I know solenoids on a pinball machine get plenty hot. I've decided I'm just going to match the collar stain on some pine and liquid nail it to the face of the Keezer, drill some screws and hang the wall mount trays to that. Alternately I...

    Stuck tap.

Yeah, I'll need the bigger container. I recently switched wife for a girlfriend who likes beer.

Mounting my drip tray to keezer

What about screwing some 1x2" (stained to match) into the collar? That would drop down and then screw the tray(s) into that. My Keezer is long finished and I'm tired of cleaning the floor all the time.

    Stuck tap.

I've seen these but with a 2.5G corny keg. My local mom-and-pop shop owner says he took it in a backpack to a Halloween party. People just poured beer off his back. LOL https://www.ontariobeerkegs.com/New_Ball_Lock_Keg_w_Single_Handle_AMCYL_2_5_Gal_p/2.5-single-acmcyl.htm Seriously, if I was...

    Simple Dunkle

Thanks! For the confirmation. I was headed the wrong way. I snagged two of the kits in case its good - or even mediocre will do fine. LOL

    Simple Dunkle

Quick question. I'm making a simple Dunkle I got from OBK. The kit just landed on my doorstep and my gear is still out from last nights brew! LOL But the instructions are pretty scant. https://www.ontariobeerkegs.com/v/vspfiles/assets/images/grainkit%20-%20obk%20dunkelweizen.pdf Okay, so...

    What's the tube equipment?!

    What are you drinking now?

Keeping carbonated water on tap in the keezer is paying off in dividends. It's great with just half a lime in a glass. This is home made Orange Ade, gin and carbed water. Pretty good!

Well, the connector seems clear. *shrugs*

    tail piece assembly

Elric, I thought all those things. I just tried replacing the beverage line connector (black) that goes onto the keg post. Guess what. That was it. The one I had on there passed all the leak testing. WTF? There must be a defect inside that is causing the beverage to spawl as it passes through...
