    Gelatin Question

It depends on the beer I make I guess as for the type of strainer I use. I have used a fine SS mesh strainer other times a coffee filter with the strainer. I have also though of using a muslin bag if you go that route let me know how it goes..

To drink or not to drink..

I got your answer, and will help a fellow drinker out. When you are not looking I will drink the beer, refill it with water, and then you can store it as long as you wish. It only works when you are not looking because if you see me drinking the beer you may want some thus killing any future...

    Gelatin Question

When I use gelatin I pour it in the secondary when I have about a week left before it moves to the kegs. I also use a strainer during the transfer process to grab any chunks that maybe picked up by the siphon. I have never had any problems and the beer comes out crystal clear. I hope this helps..

    Great Fermentations in Indianapolis:

I wanted to share a recent story I had with this LHBS. After work the wife and I drove up to the “Candy Store” aka Great Fermentations for some supplies. The owner Anita was working the floor that day and offered great advice, friendly chit-chat, and helped find all of our supplies and...

    Irish moss??

I believe it is 1/2 tbs for a 5 gal brew. I just boil a small container of water put in the gelatin then let it cool before adding it.

    Irish moss??

Just get the clear non-flavored and you will be fine. Unless you are doing a tribute to Bill Cosby then grab a flavored one and let the jello pundn pops jokes fly. :)

Will my burner handle a keggle?

Forgive my ignorance here but I have just became a proud owner of a few free sanke kegs that I plan on converting to a keggle to increase my batch sizes. Before I do this I was wondering if my current burner is able to bring a 10 gallon to a boil? This is my burner...

    Irish moss??

+1 to Gelatin as this has done wonders for the clarity of my brews. I usually ad the gelatin in about 3 days before kegging though not sure if more time is better but I have not had any problems thus far.
