Oster fridge and Sanyo 4912 both disappeared?

For a kegerator set up, there is a company on ebay that sells a refrigerator that is a perfect size. They're slightly damaged, you can choose from an a, b, or c condition, with a being the best. A's sell for $250, down to the C's that sell for $200. Haier refrigerators, shipping is a flat...

    Brewing in 107 F Weather....

LOL, it's all in what you're used to I guess. I can't stand to be cold, I'm miserable in the cold. I don't mind the heat, but you can keep the cold! I moved to Houston almost four years ago from Memphis, and the climate was a big part in my asking for the transfer.

    Brewing in 107 F Weather....

Brewing outside in Houston, TX. Temps this year have been in the mid 100's for most of the summer, but outside brewing is the way to go! (Of course, the pool makes things a lot nicer!)

Length of time for California Lager yeast to ferment in Primary?

You'll learn from reading on here that most people leave their beer in primary for three to four weeks, sometimes longer - even a lot longer. I've started doing this, usually going four weeks. I can tell you that my beer tastes fresher, cleaner and over all a LOT better by letting my beer sit...

    Poor Attenuation

My first three batches I made were with dry yeast, and I hit original and final gravity almost perfectly. However, my last two batches (which are both still in primary) I missed my original gravity for some reason. Both times my gravity was a little high, (recipe suggested 1.055, but ended up...

    Not boiling down a gal/hr...

More wort? Maybe I've been doing mine wrong, mine is about 1.5 gallons as well, but as long as the liquid reduces to 5 gallons, is there a need to add more wort?

    Lager Question

I bought AHS's Spring Maibock, it was in the primary at 50ish degrees for it's 10 days as the instructions state. After these ten days, I raised the temps to between 60 & 65 degrees for their suggested three days (or at least tomorrow will be three days). AHS suggests moving to a secondary for...

    Clearer Liquid

I think that the only thing you're missing here in making a good corn beer is a little bit of salt. I know it sounds hard to believe, but if you'll put about a cup and a half of salt with about two tablespoons of crushed cilantro in the tub when you brew your next batch you'll notice a great...

    AHS Spring Maibock

thanks for updating. I have this in primary right now, brewed it last Friday. Right now it looks like the MS River, just muddy looking. But it is slowly fermenting, looking forward to testing it several weeks from now. I'm surprised that it has the hoppy taste, as there really wasn't much...

A good book for a beginner?

Don't overlook this one. I have read them all, and use them all from time to time, but the Dummies series can't be overlooked - I have consulted that one from time to time as well.

To Secondary or not to Secondary...

Thanks all, actually you've told me what I wanted to hear. I have read a lot, but to be perfectly honest, I have learned more by lurking on this chat board than I have learned by reading the several books I've bought. My father in law got me started home brewing many years ago - he has a deep...

To Secondary or not to Secondary...

Hello all, I've been lurking here since the first of the year. Many years ago, I tried this home brewing thing, and left it disappointed. Since then, I've read a lot and realized that a major reason I was never happy with my beer was because of my methods. I think the main reason I wasn't...
