    sounds good... thanks for the advice! from reading the forums, the overall consensus is that with batch sparging, you didnt need to worry about grain depth. i guess it would be better to plan ahead in case i ever want to do fly sparging.

    is your octoberfest and ale or a lager? if its a lager and you used lager yeast, it should be fermenting at a lower temp. Not sure exactly what temp though... depends on the yeast. My apartment during winter is usually around 70-75... but the closet i keep it in seems to stay right at 68-70...

    thanks for all the advice! So i have a meeting with one of the brewers on Friday! Right now, its just to meet and show me around the brewery. I will bring a bottle of one of my home brews and bring up working there. Praying it works out b/c i cant stand my desk job anymore. Ill keep ya posted!

    brighton here! i would love to brew with anyone who has an all grain setup as im still doing extract. i know there are a few local clubs (i have yet to go to any meets though). to my knowledge there is the Boston Wort Processors which meet in Somerville.

    Hey, is Avery Maharaja supposed to be cloudy? I bought a bottle right before new years with the label saying "bottled in may 2010" and finally poured it tonight... thought it tasted weird a few sips in... but then noticed it was extremely, extremly cloudy... i have a feeling it had gone...
