    90 degree IPA

Just came home from spending the holidays with family. I brewed an AHS Winter IPA on Dec 11, we left on the 19th. I'm guessing on the 20th my fermentation chamber(chest freezer, Johnson controller and fart fan) kicked on, but my freezer went on the fritz sometime while we were gone and just...

    Grill for heat source

Anyone ever use their BBQ grill to bring their wort to a boil? My brother in law did this last night and seemed to work OK. He has a glass stovetop and it couldn't bring 3 gal of water to a boil, it was late and nothing was open, so he used his grill. He's going to buy a burner to use next time

    Sparge arm

Am I wrong, but if you use some sort of sparge assembly you lose heat. I just let it run over the grain bed with aluminum foil over the bed. The HLT temp is 175 and the water on the grain bed is usually 171.

Do i have a 6% Alcohol Beer on my hands?

Are you going to secondary? I've had some higher gravity beers that got a second wind on fermentation after racking to a secondary. Might be worth a try, or just let it sit for another week or 2. What is it they always say on here? RDWHAHB

Question regarding time from mash to boil

Go for it. The boil should kill any nasties and shouldn't result in any off flavors. I used to do partial grain after my boy went to sleep. It definately makes for a long night. He's 2 1/2 now and I have switched to all grain. Just have to keep him away from the burner now. Have friends...

    Sparge arm

I don't use a sparge arm, just a piece of foil with a bunch of holes in it set on the grain bed. I let my hose from the HLT set on top and sparge slowly. Works like a charm, but still it would be cool to show off a fancy sparge arm.:ban:

Carbing 2 kegs with 1 line

This is what I do for my 2 kegs, it doesn't take double the time, just double the gas(which isn't much). The pressure is the same so it dissolves in the beer at the same rate.:tank:
