    Necropost Awards...

Soooooo what now everyone is going look for an old thread to necro? I think I’ve seen 3 now today, all to post in this thread?!! If that’s the case then I think you need to put a link in this thread when you post it.

    Cider advice

Are you bottling or kegging? And carbed or still? Depending on that stuff you could backsweeten to bring back some of the apple flavor your looking for. I don’t like a dry cider so I backsweeten all of my ciders.

    What is going wrong?

Since it’s in a keg just add more dry hops and then just leave them in there. That’s how I do all my dry hops I have not noticed and off flavors by leaving them in even after a few months. One of the best things about kegging is that you can make adjustments like this while your drinking it...

    Pictures of hop plants

This is the third time trying to grow hops, last couple of times wildlife and then my chickens ate the rhizomes, this year I’m starting them in pots in a part of the yard the chickens don’t go in and then plant the crown at the end of this year and they should keep coming back. I’m not expecting...

    Troubleshooting No bubbling

Oh maybe, plastic can warp pretty easy while hot, that could be your issue. You could also try pressurizing that vessel at accentuate the leak with some starsan spray.

    home countertop press?

https://www.homebrewing.org/Fruit-Press-13-L-Aluminum-Stainless-Steel_p_4313.html Here’s a small metal one. And as @madscientist451 said you don’t need much to make cider, you can buy 1 gallon glass apple juice at Whole Foods so you can just ferment that and then keep the jar for future brews.

How do you save your cooling water?

I used to fill my washer, give my kids a bath and save the water and give it to the dogs and chickens. In my new house my goal is to save it to water the garden and my new hop plants! I’d like to figure out a way to recycle it in 55 gallon drums to use as cooling water all year around.

    Beerfest disappointment

I have never been to one that uses tokens, how much do they cost? For years my Homebrew club would pour at different events throughout the summer so I don’t think I ever paid to attend one. Most of the ones around here are only $25-30 if memory serves.
