    Where to "legally" purchase kegs

Where can I legally purchase 15.5 gal kegs to use for mash tun/boil kettle? I see that it is actually illegal to purchase ones that never made their way back to the store, but does the distributors ever sell them? Thanks for the advice, Taco :D

30 min vs 60 min Mash and infusion vs step mash

Thanks everyone for your input. What I have decided to do is...my own experiment. I will just pick a not so expensive batch to try it on. Time could be lost, yes. But, in reality, it will still make beer. Hopefully it won't be bad. If nothing else I will serve it to drunk friends that are...

Stir Plate - do you need the vortex

I just pitched a starter on Saturday. I did not use a stir plate (don't have one...thinking of buying one). Followed the advice of a couple you-tubers and just put starter in a mason jar and swirled it every couple hours and boooooom. Within 6 hrs had solid evidence of fermentation in the...

30 min vs 60 min Mash and infusion vs step mash

Perhaps it's time for an experiment of my own. I was listening to BN the other day and one of the guys mentioned he was doing a batch and a fellow HBer told him that 30 min was good enough for the mash (I don't remember who the individuals were). I was intrigued but skeptical. So then I read...

30 min vs 60 min Mash and infusion vs step mash

In the Joy of Home Brewing it talks about the differences between the Infususion Mash and Step Mash processes. I was wondering your view on the subject. (whom ever is reading...lol) Many of the recipes call for a step mash infusion. Also, in the description of the Infusion mash is describes...

Brew Your Own Ranger IPA Recipe

I'm going to brew this recipe on Monday. I will post how it turns out! Ranger is a good IPA IMHO. One thing I'm doing different from the ingredient list is I'm adding more hops than called for. It calls for a .5 oz of Simcoe and 2.5 oz total of Cascade, so I am going to make a late hop...

    Boulevards Double Wide IPA

Thank you kind sir! I will give it a go and post results soon. By the way, how do you guys get those recipes? Are you designing them on some kind of software? Or, did you find this recipe somewhere? I'm always impressed that guys just seem to pull a recipe out and post it....just curious...

    Boulevards Double Wide IPA

It has become one of my fav's as well and after only 2. I also found it to have a huge flavor base like stone's IPA. Not the same but a really big flavor. Love it!!! Taco :D

    Boulevards Double Wide IPA

Hey-anyone try this beer yet? Boulevards Double Wide IPA-- A buddy of mine shared a couple with me last night. Holy crap. To me, that's the flavor I am looking for. Does anyone know of a recipe, that they have tried, that comes even close? I would actually be pretty happy with "close", lol...

    What are you drinking now?

My very first post BTW...I am having the SA Whitewater IPA right now. I have read some good replies, some not so good. For me, this is a great beer. I am still a pretty new HBer but if I could, I would make this beer. I think for a summer beer it is VERY drinkable. Love the citrus and hop...
