    Cheap price on co2 hose

I use the 1/4" home improvement store hose but recently ran into some issues see below. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/vinyl-tubing-oily-489152/

    Vinyl tubing oily

It's funny cause I have two lines that are good and and only the third line is bad. Does the white waterline fit over a hose barb?

    Vinyl tubing oily

No starsan. Doesn't seem to affect the beer yet but I am still a bit skeptical.

    Vinyl tubing oily

I have been using 1/4" vinyl tubing from the hardware store for gas line. The last length I got has developed a white residue and feels kind of oily. It seems to come out when the tubing gets cold in the fridge. Anyone know why this is happening or how to get rid of it? The previous line I have...

drilling holes in fridge for a 4-way manifold

I used curtain tension rods. No drilling. Other wise the side is probably safer spot to drill.

    Nugget not looking right

Here is better picture. Think it changed sides and is a male plant now?

    Nugget not looking right

They grew crazy fast this year. I have just been putting some Alaska fish fertilizer on them every couple of weeks. Maybe they will fill out once it gets burs like your did.

    Nugget not looking right

Last year I didn't harvest cones until the end of August but the plants seemed to be ahead of schedule this year. This plant just doesn't look right. Last year the laterals had plenty of leaves.

    Nugget not looking right

My nugget hops look funny this year. It may be hard to see in this picture but the runners have very few leaves and no burs yet. Usually where the leaves grow on the runners there are two leaves this plant has only one. My centennial plant has some big juicy cones already and plenty of leaves...

How to get refrigerator and freezer to open together on kegerator

If you have room between the doors use an angle with a short leg (1/2") on top of the fridge door and bottom of the freezer door then there is no problem with the seals.Of course the angle on the fridge door goes just in front of the angle on freezer door.

How to get refrigerator and freezer to open together on kegerator

Some refrigerators have a hole on the door opposite side the hinge with a cap. This is so you can reverse the hinge and have the right hand or left open. Just put a short piece of threaded rod in the hole to pin the door together.

    Safale S-05 Fermenting at 50

I've never experienced the peach flavor and have fermented as low as 58. If your temp was higher for the first couple of days I still think it will be ok.

    Safale S-05 Fermenting at 50

I don't think you will see any off flavors from a low temp. The yeast may have slowed down or stalled but should start again if it's warmed a little bit. I Use S-05 in the low 60's all the time.

Can I just loosely put the lid on this fermentor and use no valve at all?

If you pitch viable yeast and use the loose cap you should be pushing CO2 out of the container and nothing should be able to get in. You could also cut disk out of a bucket lid the same size as the blue part drill it an use an airlock.

Can I just loosely put the lid on this fermentor and use no valve at all?

Loose cap instead of an airlock isn't earth shattering. Point is leave the cap loose relax and have a homebrew it will be fine. Google coolship if your interested in truly open fermentation. I am not that paranoid and plan on doing an open fermentation of my Troegs Dreamweaver clone this spring.

Can I just loosely put the lid on this fermentor and use no valve at all?

Pretty sure the guys on brewing tv have done open fermentation in their basement and all was fine. In Belgium they leave the windows open to let the yeast blow in. Check out Cantillon brewery. The cap will help it's not open.

It will be fine. A lot of breweries do open fermentation. http://youtu.be/xClXKMhcFr0
