Is my wort ruined? First ag.

I am currently lautering through my cooler tun and the wort is deep brown. I thought it was meant to be clearer. Maybe my manifold didn't sieve enough. What do you think?

    Do i need a syphon?

Thanks mate, that's great advice. I'm down under here in Victoria. Just starting out. Is using an ice bath for the time being alright? I will have to dump due to lack of IC.

    Do i need a syphon?

Doing first ag tomoro. My brew pot does not have a tap. How do people transfer the hopped wort to the fermentor in this case? I have been told pouring stirs it up too much and gives too much trub.

Using pvc for lauter tun manifold.

Hi guys setting up for first ag brew. Have built my cooler lauter tun manifold using PVC that's meant to withstand hot water. I'm in Australia and the plumbing store guys had not heard of cpvc so I guess that's an American term. Obviously metal would be better but do you think my PVC manifold...

Simple recipe required first time all grain brew

Hi, I'm in Australia setting up for first brew. Made the lauter tun today. I'd like to brew an American pale ale style beer and would love some input on simple and readily available malt barley and hops to use. I'd like a high alcohol and high balanced hop profile without overkill on the...
