    Scrivs kegerator build thread

Finally convinced the wife to issue a po for a garage kegerator project. I spent some time scouring craigslist and visiting random strangers until settling on this Whirlpool 18 cubic foot freezer top refrigerator. I removed the interior shelving and built a single shelf to support the corny...

    New to co2, regulator question.

I received my regulator today and I have a question about how it seals to the cylinder. The regulator has an O-ring at the input connector, but taped to the packaging is a small nylon bushing. The instructions don't mention the bushing at all, what am I supposed to do with it?

    Installing Accuflex Bev-Seal Ultra 3/16

Yikes, I was planning to run 12' lines, maybe I'll be rethinking that! Luckily this stuff is reasonably priced. Also, for those interested I've found a 1/4 tubing by female 1/4 flare fitting to plumb my co2 side with these John Guest style fittings. It's made by Parker and the part number is...

    Installing Accuflex Bev-Seal Ultra 3/16

Question on the John Guest fittings, how tight do you go? I'm known to be a bit heavy handed with a wrench, and I don't want to strip these out. I'm thinking finger tight then 1/4 turn but I wanted to ask first.

    Show us your Kegerator

Humble beginnings, it may never be as nice as some of these setups, but it'll serve my purpose. 4 taps coming soon.

What's the date on this cylinder?

Just picked up a 20# aluminum co2 cylinder from Craigslist. I'm unsure about the date, I'm guessing (hoping?) it's 9/2011.

Building kegerator soon, a few questions.

That's a great idea, I'll have to break out the tape measure tonight!

Building kegerator soon, a few questions.

The only thing I don't like is he's stepping the tubing down to 1/4 at each connection. Meaning 2 possible leak points per connection instead of 1. I guess I could run 5/16 OD gas line with John Guest fittings.

Building kegerator soon, a few questions.

I haven't decided on a regulator yet, and I was all set to order the red gas line with flare swivel nuts & clamps but I really like that John Guest setup in that thread. Think I'll go that route instead.
