    What's in your fermenter(s)?

    All grain milk stout.

    Soot from propane burners

Is there a way to adjust the air flowing into it? Can you post a picture? Ideally you want an all blue flame, a small amount of yellow is ok but that's what makes the soot.

Well, this hasn't happened to me before…

Yes, clean the airlock and put it back in. Not a lot of headspace there, you may have this a couple times.

    6 Gallon Better Bottle Carboy

Good to hear, I picked up a Vintage Shop PET 6 gallon in the meantime.

    Smoking

I smoked for 22 years. I quit and it's like a whole new world of tastes. It definitely inhibits your ability to taste.

    Soot from propane burners

I think it's the air/fuel ratio, do you get an orange flame or almost all blue?

Forceps, silicone hose and cam locks?

Get yourself something like this, Harbor Freight sells cheap versions. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000HT4KRI/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

What is this floating in my beer??

Kind of looks like grain hulls.

    Digital thermometer recommendation

I have one of these, works great. http://thermoworks.com/products/low_cost/rt600c.html Edit: not sure if you're looking for a handheld or a bulkhead mountable style.

Taprite regulator, to washer or not to washer?

The regulator should come with an o-ring installed at the tank connector. Personally I just went with the o-ring and it seals up fine, no leaks here.

    Show us your Kegerator

That's what I ended up doing, I got some nylon spacers from Home Depot and bolted it directly to the shelf rail.

    Keg pouring issue

Check the o-rings on the liquid out post, maybe worn and letting air in.

    Why all the erlenmeyer flasks?

You can't make level 10 beer geek using mason jars.
  14. Scriv

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Brewing an all grain milk stout on Saturday that will get tacked onto coffee after fermenting, and then be the first corny through my new kegerator!

    AIH Kegs

Just bought another new 5 gallon from AIH. It arrived with a small dent thanks to UPS but looks great otherwise. I'll probably end up with a few more of these.

    Stout! Winter is coming...

    Bucket or carboy primary

6.5 gallon BSG bucket or 6 gallon PET carboy. Started with glass but cracked while cleaning and I decided to avoid the inevitable.
  19. Scriv

To keg or not to keg??

I say keg, even if you stop homebrewing or your beer sucks you can still switch to a Sanke "d" and get commercial kegs.
