    Using coffee in beer

So my coffee milk stout is done, I put 2 cups of cold brew in when I kegged it. First pours today taste great, coffee aroma, lots of chocolate flavor with a coffee finish.

    Trade Homebrew Pictures!

I've always complained about the price of Bomb out here. $10 each is crazy high, if shipping didn't kill the difference I'd ask you to ship me a few 4 packs.

    Trade Homebrew Pictures!

The Bomb was $10 each, same as Bevmo here, KBS was $6.99 each. They also had Vanilla Noir, but at $14 for a 12oz bottle I had to pass.

    Trade Homebrew Pictures!

Not a trade, but found a bottle shop near my work that has an impressive selection. I'll be buying many more from them for sure! Happy to see Founders in California!

Looking For Tips And Suggestions On Filtering Beer

Do you guys filter cold, or at fermentation temps? I'm thinking of racking my next brew to a keg, then pushing it through a filter into another keg, then chilling and carbing it.

    Pushing my luck

It pushed up a bit higher, touching the bottom of the stopper, now the krausen is dropping.

    San Diego C02 Fills

Ouch, $13-20 to fill a 5lb cylinder? I pay $20 to fill or exchange a 20lb. Edit: not in San Diego though.

    Pushing my luck

48 hours in, it's in the neck of the carboy. Fingers crossed.

    Trub this!

Don't worry about filtering out the trub, it'll settle out during primary, just be careful when you rack to keg/bottling bucket and you can leave it in the fermenter.

    Why do you hate brewing?

The amount of time between brewday and carbed beer day. Wish the process was faster.

false bottoms, are they as good as people say?

I just switched from a false bottom to a bag, but really only for easier cleaning and not having to vorlauf.

    Using a fridge/freezer with A419 Question

This. A refrigerator is designed to handle the condensation. Plus with a fridge you don't have to lift carboys or kegs over and into the space.

    Using coffee in beer

I just brewed a coffee milk stout, I added cold brew coffee into the keg, I'll know how it turned out next weekend. The sample tasted great!

Where to get the short neck bottles?

It's cheaper to buy a 12 pack of Sierra Nevada, drink it, and then reuse the bottles.

What came in the mail for you today?

    O-rings for my weldless bulkhead.

    Watery beer!?!?!?!?!?!

I don't think so, I just tested how much water was left in my mash tun once it stopped draining. You should definitely measure your boil off rate though.

Simple filter to dechlorinate tap water

I wouldn't need more than 1gpm flow rate, I'm only going to be using this for 10 gallons of brew water at a time. I currently buy bottled water at $1 a gallon, so I want a solution that is reasonably priced. The rv filter looks ok so far, or a Pentek 10" housing with a carbon block filter.
