    March pump fittings and questions

No problems at all...the motor has a thermal overload built in...so if it gets too hot it will shut off and turn back on again when it cools off....if that was to happen i would install a vent plate on the opposite side fothe box to let air in....or keep the box lid open. That link you have...

Questions about March Pumps answered by the Factory!

Most times its hard to make out but the set screw takes a 1/8" allen key to break it free....once the set screw is loose it "should" come off...if its stubborn then take two flat head screw drivers and put the tips under the collar of the magnet up against the shaft and pry it off.....but do it...

    Stainless or brass?

Unless you happen to live in California which recently passed a 100% no lead deal.....all the brass fixtures in your home contain trace amounts of Lead....most times its up to 6 or 8%....the difference is domestic hot water is usually below 140*F and they don't recommend drinking the hot water...

    March pump fittings and questions

If you set the pump on a table and look at the inlet/outlet, you will see the outlet is slightly higher...that lets the air seek it's highest point and helps it escape the pump head. As long as your plumbing is not overly long and drapes back down below the outlet causing an air lock to trap the...

    March pump issues- help appreciated!

Hmmm....only times i see "awful" noises coming out of the pumps is when the pump head is completely dry...or the motor was tweaked from being dropped or somthing fell on it and hit it hard.....the motors sometimes run ok with no head on it but put a little resistance against it and it makes a...

    March pump issues- help appreciated!

Depending on how the pump is used and how muh restriction it see's on the inlet side, the impeller can wear out the washer over time...remember its thin and teflon is a soft material... we have been playing around with some new materials that resist wearing VERY well and may see the production...

    March pump issues- help appreciated!

If you have the pump apart then check for the thrust washer...should be on the shaft between the impeller and the front housing....the older versions are black so it may be hard to see against the back housing...the newer ones are white. Its a teflon washer and can wear out over time depending...

    March AC-3B-MD Pump

First thing i would do is measure the ID of that 1/2" fpt adapter and see what it is....if its 7/16" or less then it will act as an orifice and you shouldn't have any problems....if its bigger and is a true 1/2" ID then you "could" potentially run into de-coupling issues or wear out the front...

    Possible pump for brewing?

That looks to be a rotary diaphram pump....they can be made out of food grade materials but normally dont take high temps. Also if you have a lot of debris it "could" potentialy stick the diaphram open and loose pumping action....try and find out who made it and call them for more info...about...

Questions about March Pumps answered by the Factory!

Breaking down the motor to change the cord is about impossible for most people. If you were to pop the back cover off the motor you would see the lamination stacks inside....there are two dimples on the outside of the motor that hold that stack in plac....you would need to pop them out to be...

    Storage Temp for March Pump

I'd bring it inside as well....even though the internal parts of the motor are varnished to prevent corrosion....i have seen quite a few that have weathered the elements come back rusting.....still working but rust none the less. If you cant get it inside and it HAS to stay outside, then the...

Questions about March Pumps answered by the Factory!

The people that get into 3 PHase motors are usually eyeing a VFD (Variable frquency drive) to be installed on the motor so they can adjust the RPM's of the motor and the output of the pump on the fly....no valves to monkey with just turn a dial to set value and go :)

Questions about March Pumps answered by the Factory!

Shaft is 3/8" with a 9/16" flat for setscrew bolt pattern on our motor actually uses a 10-32 stud on a 3.87/3.91" bolt circle set 90* appart sitting straight up but as long as you can get the holes on it close size wise you can get it to work and RPM at no-load speed is 3450.....when...

March pump crapped out on me

From the ones i get back here with the complaint of "Humming" or " buzzing" it usually turns out the motor was dropped or something fell on it and tweaked the motor case throwing the entire shaft/rotor assembly out of alignment. I have had some prety good luck getting them straightened out and...

Questions about March Pumps answered by the Factory!

If your having problems above 190* the first thing i would do is drill the impellers...they may be binding on the shafts when it heats up and they expand. Pass a 17/64" drill bit through the center and test it out on some hot water...also make sure the teflon thrust washer is still there.....if...
