A good use for Bud Light

I also get nasty headaches from Budweiser products. Doesn't matter how much I drink, even half a can. That alone keeps me from drinking it. The taste(or lack of) helps keep me away too. If it was the only thing being offered at a gathering, I would go thirsty. I wonder if it would be as good at...

    1/3 Beer Evaporated After Boil!!

I used to have that problem, before I learned the right way to do it. Always topped it off, with no issues. It should turn out fine. I never boiled my top up water with no ill effects. Although now that I see a post saying you should, it's probably a good idea.

Can anyone give a newbie bottling tips, especially a new wand?

No pics needed. I understand what you're saying now. Like the above post, cut a short piece of tubing to attach the wand to the spout.

Can anyone give a newbie bottling tips, especially a new wand?

Mine leaks a little too, so I bottle over the open door of the dishwasher (got that tip from here). Keeps the mess contained. Then when your done you just close the door and run it to clean up the mess. They do have some bottling wands that have a spring in them to keep it closed. I personally...

    Maybe a beginner

SmaSh is a great way to learn the different malts. I brewed 6 different ones with the same hops, just changed the base malt. It's a nice way to help you determine which ones give what flavors. When you find the taste your looking for, then you can start adding other malts to find the combination...

Adding coffee to a stout in the secondary

I recently used the cold brew method with a hazelnut coffee. I added it to the bottling bucket. Yes it did cut down the abv a bit, but since it was at 12% that wasn't a big deal. I only had a gallon of stout. Added 24oz of cold brew to it, cut it down around 9 or 10% ( didn't matter to me so I...

    Kettle question

I'm looking to eventually convert to eBiaB, and am starting with the kettle. I'm looking at this one, and am not sure about if it would be good to convert to electric. With the basket it's in my current price range. I only brew 2.5 gallon batches, so it's a good size...

So jealous. They didn't ship any Waldo's to my neck of the woods.

    Any thoughts?

Thanks for the wisdom you all have bestowed upon me. I didn't consider the recirculation causing pugs. It would be good for what it's intended, but I'll have to continue my search for a BIAB electric system. Seems like it would be counter productive to have one tool just for heating strike...

Adding froot loops to the grain bill

I did a cereal mash with "Fruity Pebbles". It had a really nasty color while fermenting, like sewage. It ended up clearing up and looking more like beer by the end. Biggest problem I had was all the tub that ended up in the bottling bucket. It could not be avoided no matter how hard I tried. I...

    Missed gravity

So this is what I did: Boiled 1 cup water. Added 1 pound light DME. Cooled then added to fermenter by submerging a sanitized hose in the wort. Thing were crazy for a couple days. But in the end it came out good. ABV ended up at 5%. Tasted great. Thanks for the useful tips I got on here.
