    Prost! from Germany

Welcome from Leeds Point NJ. My process is not quite as dialed-in as yours probably is, and I look forward to learning from your posts.

New post a picture of your pint

Two years ago, this was supposed ro be an Irish Red but ended up more like a dark mild (before I was even acquainted with the style). Murky but tasty; it has aged well. So well that I'm tempted to try another batch, but wonder if thus was just beginner's luck.

    What are you drinking now?

Best for perusing HBT in the morning.

    What are you drinking now?

A really delicious Mexican Coffee stout from Cape May Brewing. If I've posted about this before and it's redundant, that's OK; it's really deserving.

    Higher temp yeast's

It's those minor details.... Just perused the UPS international alcohol shipping guide; seems tremendously complicated. Like the beer or not, you'd probably drink it when faced with the number of hoops involved in shipping it.

What I did for beer today

Consulted Google Translate and ex-French-teacher-wife to submit a product request to Brasserie Lancelot, Bretagne. Hopefully I'll get a B+ for effort and some info about where their beer Tellen Du can be sourced.

    Higher temp yeast's

I've been mildly obsessed with finding Tellen Du for quite awhile, if only to verify that it is / is not as good as my vague memory. Not sure how, but I'm going to source some.

What I did for beer today

Rearranged the Not-So-Great-Wall-of-Beer in the spare room. Dumped the shabby roadside-pick cabinet that I had been using to store my gear, repurposed one of my 13 yr old's Ikea toyboxes. A definite improvement. Whether this will improve the quality of my beer is questionable; maybe. Will my...

    What are you drinking now?

Insidious Pumpkin iteration # 3 - bourbon vanilla tincture this time instead of Saigon cinnamon overload. Much better outcome.

    Higher temp yeast's

Thank you. I did a pseudo-lager with Lutra and struggled to find the descriptor for it that I wanted - flabby suits my memory of its overall character quite well. The only beer I've ever had any luck with pitching Lutra was a buckwheat porter that is my attempt at a regional beer from your part...

Weird question: Does vanilla kill yeast?

Resurrecting this necropost. Having a similiar issue, if anyone else has experienced it. Am trying ob_1jr's suggestion and inverting the bottles in their sixpack holders.

    Hello

    Post removed.

    What are you drinking now?

That's a rockstar looking Chex mix. I am absolutely no judge of Apfelwein; cool glass though.

    What are you drinking now?

Cape May Brewing Co Cali Common (a long time since I've drank Anchor Steam, seems pretty close) and its Honey Porter (best porter in Jersey, IMO). Cheers!

What I did for beer today

Bottled pumpkin ale with bourbon-vanilla tincture - 36 12 oz, 2 22 oz. Dosed 4 bottles with bourbon maple syrup before bottling to see how it affects carbing and flavor.

    Pumpkin Pie Ale with Apples

Let me know how this goes. Always trying to tweak / improve my early winter pumpkin ale. This year I'm trying a vanilla bean-bourbon tincture, and (maybe) some bourbon flavored maple syrup to prime.

How much tincture for 4.5 gallons?

So if I have just under 8 oz of this mixture / tincture, I was thinking about using half of it, in the method you describe.
  19. leedspointbrew

    What are you drinking now?

Last year's pumpkin had too much cinnamon; a couple drops of bourbon-vanilla tincture added to one of the leftovers smooths that burn out nicely.

    What are you drinking now?

    Simply delicious, more likely.
