Brewed 5 gallons of an experimental ale (the best way to describe it).
10 pounds Belgian pilsner, 1 pound Belgian aromatic, 2 pounds jaggery sugar near end of boil. Loral hops throughout. Using Javoru Lithuanian Farmhouse yeast.
We'll see how it goes. In the words of the philosopher Denny...
Also, make sure you pitch a sufficient amount of yeast. If you under pitch, in my experience, even with everything else being right, you will get more banana notes. YMMV
kind of curious why you are using both Carafa and chocolate wheat? I use chocolate wheat for color and omit the Carafa seeing how it is so little of the recipe it doesn't seem to affect the flavor.
I use spring water from the store (that is, when I can find it). I add in nutrients also but nothing other than the nutrients.
I wouldn't use tap water without first getting rid of the chlorine/chloramine.
Just my 2 cents
I had one of those rolling machines. Still rolled by hand when I needed to. Handy skill when I went into the Navy. Then again, sea store cigarettes were really cheap.
Does anyone else remember when cigarettes were 23 cents in the machine? My father would give my brother or me a quarter and tell us to go by him a pack of smokes. You put in a quarter and pull the lever and you get the cigarette pack with 2 pennies taped on the bottom.
A local brewery has a Bo Pils that I have been drinking. Really nice beer. In fact, drinking one right now. Inspired me to try making one--- So, tomorrow, a Czech Premium Lager.
What is MME?
I have been looking for another program since my computer updated and my BS2 disappeared.
I have looked at Grainfather and have used the free version of Brewer's Friend and use Bru'n Water for my water adjustments.
