Day late to posting-------- Yesterday a friend and I brewed 12 gallons of a Baltic Porter. Beautiful day in central Florida. Started out in the upper 30s and by the time we finished was 65* with abundant sun. OG=1.078.

    RO water from store machine

A local brewery will fill up carboys with RO water at no cost. They make good beer using that water and I have been using this water for the last few brews with good results. Also comes in handy during hurricane season.

I use a refractometer up until the FG, then I use a hydrometer. There are several websites which will give you the...

What book is on your nightstand? Readers!

Dan is great. Makes history more appealing and interesting than any other history I have heard before. I just wish the podcasts were more frequent. "History on Fire" is very good also. Right now, I'm rereading "On the Road."

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Took a gravity reading today. Went from 1.066 to 1.006 in 6 days. Peppery taste. Hazy, like a NEIPA. Deceptively easy to drink for a 7.8% beer. I will probably clear it up with some gelatin, then keg it. Gonna be good on a hot day.
