The worst beer I have ever had in my life...

Worst "beer" was Olde English in college. Mickey's was a much better malt liquor. Worst beer recently was a sixer of Lagunitas IPA I got on a trip to Titusville, FL. Went to a liquor store to get beer for the party we were attending and could not find anything other than bud/coors/miller etc...

The worst beer I have ever had in my life...

People keep referring to "Guinness Stout" but I think what you mean is "Guinness Drought"? The stout is strong, the drought is not strong.

    Coffee Kiln Cascadian Dark Ale

Yeah, I would just use regular pale extract, unless all you have is dark extract. You will get enough flavor and color from your grains. It depends on your preference, but a little more sweetness could be nice, like maybe some 120L crystal? I'm not personally a fan of 30 min hop additions. I...

    Temp swings while fermenting??

Sweet snake. I think 7 degrees is not much of a big deal, but if you're worried about it you can add more insulation around your fermentor like wrapping it in a blanket.

Maris Otter Amarillo Partial Mash Recipe

You are mashing with 5L of water, and your boil is 7L. Just make sure to sparge your grains after mashing to get to the 7L boil volume. And like rhys333 said, add your extract after the boil is done. Since this is an IPA you will want to keep your IBUs up there. You could extend the boil to 75...

    What are you drinking now?

So the 75th anniversary ale says 1935-2010, but the 80th anniversary ale says 1933-2013??? Am I missing something here  Was the beer so monumental it changed the course of history?

    What are you drinking now?

While brewing a DIPA this afternoon, think I'm going to call it "Election Day IPA". Wow, SN Estate is on another level. I can taste the difference in the malt, compared to other brews. Saw this bottle (750ml) at Whole Foods for $7.99. Picked up two :D
