    Bergamot Beer

I want to challenge this. Bergamont oil and Orange oil are perfectly fine to add to the beer. In the example of the orange, the peel contains the orange oil so adding the peel is the same as adding the orange oil. Essential oils are only oils in that they are based on a poly-carbonic chain...

    Has anyone tried Core Beer?

My grandpa has a very secret fried walnut stew recipe. He left it to me in his will, but I cannot tell those secrets. I don't know where I found that recipe for the beer, but you might google it. Try: pumpkin seed beer

    Chocolate Wheat Stout

Hum I got all that... I don't think I want to use a wheat yeast, too funky for this. I might use a traditional English ale strain. I have some U.K. First Gold (4.5%) that might go really well in this. I'm going to play with this and post some recipe ideas later.

Any reason not to go All Grain right from the start?

I did one extract batch before I went all grain. The learning curve is different, not necessarily steeper. There are a lot of processes that you just have to trust are working out, and when things seem to be going horribly wrong they usually aren't. You have to remember to just chill and go with...

I'll say it one more time "When ya go digging up the past... All ya get is dirty." (This is a one year old thread)

Is this malt usable for beer

Reinheitsgebot is outdated, over quoted and devastatingly limiting. It's like telling a great chef that all she can use is beef, mushrooms, salt and pepper, yeah you could make a great steak or burger, but what about a crab boil. The law was lifted in May of 1987 and thus German brewers are...

20 lb of sugar and a jar of yeast nutrient

I don't think that bringing it back to softball is necessary if it is going into the kettle shortly after, but for any kind of storage it would add shelf-life to the product by reducing the water content.

    Blood orange substitute

"When ya go diging up the past... All ya get is dirty." I think I'll go watch that movie.
