What I did for beer today

Well, I kegged my True Blue Belgian Ale, tasted it, of course. I think I am going to let it sit for a week or so. I think I may have kegged it a little early. I then did an inventory and found I have enough ingredients for a Wirbier, cleaned the fermenter, I found the leak on my CO2 line and...

Time to stop lurking about and make some beer

I took the SG reading today, it is down to 0.015, my calculations say it should go down to about 0.011. I will take another reading in about three days. I tasted it and it was very good, had a strong orangey tast which I was told that the Belgian Ale yeast will create. I think this is going...

Time to stop lurking about and make some beer

Thanks, but, a smaller batch means less beer, owww, I don't like that. I am using a 6.5 gallon comical. Blow off tube has to be the problem, that and I need to find a way to make the lid secure. This morning it still smelled good just lots of foam. I have brewed only 6 or 7 batches, but I...

Time to stop lurking about and make some beer

Hi again. I got home from work and it looks like the foam pushed my lid off for a second time, don't know how long the brew has been sitting with the lid askew. I guess this may end up a wild beer? Now I am worried, I think I will have a homebrew and start a new batch? Does anybody think...

Time to stop lurking about and make some beer

Well, I woke up this morning, my blow off tube had become clogged and the lid of my Fermentor was blown off, I just replaced the lid and went to work. Should I now be worried about foreign stuff in my beer? Will this effect the taste?

Time to stop lurking about and make some beer

Well it has been almost 48 hours, I would think this beer would be blowing the top off the fermenter. Just a few bubbles, seems like it is hardly fermenting at all? I hate the wait, I used a liquid yeast, maybe I should have made a starter? Oh, well, no worries.. Vcb

Time to stop lurking about and make some beer

    Cleaning a Conical Fermentor?

I like being able to get the trub out, and I like the cool looks of it. Oh yeah, I get to say, "I use a conical as a Fermentor". Smile, it's all good.

    If i change the recipie?

This is good! Would you all drink a "Crusty Grunt Red Ale". Then after several cool Ales say the name five times real fast? I don't think I should drink and type.... -burping-

    If i change the recipie?

If I change the recipe, and it turns out good, do I get to make up a name for the new beer? Hahahah! Just checking, - Burp-

    Cleaning a Conical Fermentor?

I everyone, this maybe a silly question, but here goes. I have a Mini Brew conical, I have made three batches in this and they have been good. The question is, do I need to take everything apart every time I clean it? I.e., should I disassemble the racking port and bottom port every time I...

Poll: What method do you brew with?

Hahahaaha! Now that is a technique I want to learn. Do you use the manual tire pump or a compressor? : )

Poll: What method do you brew with?

Partial Mash, I have been using extract till my last batch. I like to use grains and I think this is a good way to see if I can go to an AG.

Thanks for letting me hang out, this is the first batch that I have kegged, Its supposed to be an Irish Red, since it was made in America, I think the Judges would give it to you.
