    Have question!!

Hey Y'all I finally got my CO2 and regulator and got it filled yesterday. :ban: I now have everything that I need, and my batch is ready to be transferred to the soda keg. My question is involving the seal from the regulator to the CO2 tank. Is teflon tape ok for this fitting? I...

Accidentally dumped in priming sugar too early

Yes....Yes you should. At the present moment the yeast sees all of the sugar as food and will not stop until the food is all gone. This will not hurt your batch, and is not really enough to raise the alcohol content so everything will be fine. So if you "do not" want flat beer, than...

Corny Keg Overhaul..... what to do???

If you have ball locks you can use a wrench without any difficulty, but if you have pin locks like me you will need a proper socket to get the plugs/post off. You can buy on for about $15 online or you can do what I did and buy a 13/16 inch deep socket and Dremel out the notches where the pins...

    Kegging without priming sugar

From what I've read (and I've been reading a lot, because I'll be kegging soon myself) is that you should have the beer fairly cold, because the co2 will dissolve better. Make sure whatever you do, that you calculate the CO2 addition based on the temperature you plan to store the keg in. I...

    cloudy beer

When you are talking glass, do you mean the whole carboy or a cup? In every batch that I have made I was pretty much unable to see through the carboy, but when I racked it to or bottled it, it was much clearer. The only reason for the difference was because the light was unable to penitrate...

    The Travelling Coke Keg

Hey Everyone, I will be going on a golf trip in June, and while I realize that the trip is still aways off, I have a question that has popped into my head. In about 1-2 weeks I will be putting my next batch into a coke keg. My thought is to have a batch ready to take on the golf trip with...

    Round Two

I leave my secondary at about 68 degrees. 60 sounds low. In the Keg it is better to refridgerate, because the CO2 will absorb better in colder conditions. It is true that, that as the beer ages, i find the better it gets. I have found the the general consense on this site, is to age in...

    Secondary white stuff....??

I'm wondering, when the alcohol level reaches 5% (give or take), can stuff really grow in there? I understand that some sort of anerobic bacteria could, and there is always something that can live somewhere crazy. IGOR

    Not flocculating

Anyway....I left my last batch in the secondary for 2.5 months, and had great carbonation. IGOR

    Second chance

make sure you keep the beer out of the fridge when added the sugar or tabs. otherwise the yeast will be dormant.

    Beer Gas

I was talking to a guy at the compressed gas shop today and he mentioned that they have a gas mixture that is called "beer gas". It is 30% CO2 and 70% Nitrogen. Has anyone had any experience with this mixture? I know that people have used nitrogen for stouts, but I probobly will never...

    Secondary white stuff....??

    Must Get Closer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    A quick ?

I've done it fairly hot and had not problem with the carbonation. There are so many million yeasties and so much water that the small percentage of warm/hot water your adding shouldn't make a difference. IGOR
