    To Repitch.....?

Well after closer inspection it's bubbling away. I guess there just was not a big krausen build up.... There is some bubbling, and the seal was a bit loose. Good call!! I guess things go out through the point of least resistance. Thanks for the help. IGOR

    To Repitch.....?

Hey, I've put on a batch of a pilsner on Saturday afternoon and haven't really seen any action. There is a small build up of wannabe krausen, but every other batch I've made has gone off without a problem. Any thought's about added more yeast? Maybe just giving it another stir? The...

    Thermometer that records temps?

Agreed!!! We use thermocouple wire and with readers and records at work for chemical injections for drinking water well. Cost per unit is about $450 CAN. Works really well though. With the wire we can measure down about 300 feet in a well and teh unit has a range upto ~1000 degrees celcius...

    Beermachine?

You can prime each bottle and things will work without difficulty. My first full batch was completed this way until I learn of the great method of bulk priming. For a 12 oz bottle it's 1/2 tsp of sugar....I think!!! I'm not sure about a 500 ml bottle. I'm sure someone will correct me...

    First keg in the fridge

I dont' know how large you tank is, but I've read that a 5 lbs tank will service 5-7 soda kegs. That's form the retailer so it hard to say how true it is. IGOR

    Tasty

Last weekend, much to my suprise, I finished off a soda keg of Red Ale. It was an excellent beer!!! Lucky for me during the bottling, the keg filled up and I was left with enought left over to fill 11 bottles.....EXCELLENT I SAID!!! Well tonight was the first bottle that I had from that...

    never bottled before

Until I got all of my pop-top bottle together I used twist offs and I've lost about 1-2% of the bottles due to them not sealing. I've never broken one though. I was using Bud, Keith's and Alpine bottles, if that makes a difference. IGOR

    Ten gallons just about gone

That's what was great about the last batch I keg, or the only batch I kegged but whatever..........Anyway, after filling the Corny to about 1/2 inch under the gas tube, I still had enough left over to fill 12 bottles. It's like Igorstien's Private Stash!!!! For my eyes only!! IGOR

    First Glass Always Foam

I would definetly say you need more line. you mention only using 2 or 3 feet. If you are using 3/16 inch ID line, you should have one foot of beer line for every 2 PSI. For example if you PSI on the Keg is set at 12 PSI than you should have 6 feet of 3/16 inch ID line going to your tap. If...

What if I don't have an extra fridge?

Unless you have my friends who insist on not using a glass and planting there mouth directly under the tap and pulling the handle, al la Barney Gumbell on the Simpsons. The excuse is that they don't want to dirty a glass. IGOR

    Bottled brew yesterday

I have the Pin Lock or Coke Kegs and the last batch I completed (which is the only batch that I have in a keg), still gave me a dozen bottle after the keg was full. I'm not sure if that is the norm, but if I can continue that number and keep those on the shelf til I really need them, I'm...

    sanitization with UV?

Well you can purchase a UV system for you house well that will kill pretty much everything passing by it. For a whole house system there around $400CAN. I guess it could work!! I know the in water well that have had bacteria (ie. E-coli and coliform) have shown Zero counts of the bacteria...

Check out this video I made for my brother

Very Nice!! Makes me want to switch over to AG right now. I'm gonna post email this to a group here in town if it's OK with you. A couple are starting to AG and it would be a good basic instruction manual for them. NICE JOB....Next time you should let everyone know when your brewing...

    Removing Labels...

A paint/razor scapper works well too. Normally it would be used to get paint off a window after painting the frame. IGOR

    Transfering to secondary

You should be fine to move it. The 1-2-3 rule is in play right now. I would anyway to ensure you get a good CO2 blanket in the secondary, IMO, but someone else my say something different. IGOR

Who makes an IPA that is representative of the style?

I don't know if you can get it there, but for a mass brewery, I really enjoy Alexander Keith's IPA. It comes out of Halifax, Nova Scotia. IGOR

    Soda Keg Cleaning

The o-ring will make a huge difference. The three sets of o-rings that I replaced after a couple of months still smell like coke and sprite......HMM...Why have I not just thrown them out.....OH RIGHT.........I KEEP EVERYTHING!! IGOR

    First label (rough draft)

NECK LABEL???? I have a hard enough time just stamping the cap of my brew to tell the difference, let alone put a label on them............let alone putting a neck label on them!! IGOR
