Got a two keg starter kit now need a fridge

What would you recommend to purchase on a budget. I could try finding a used fridge or inexpensive new one. I'd use it for storing two kegs, probably modify for external taps and for 7 gal fermentor when attempting my first logger or pilsner. With that purpose in mind what have some of you...

What came in the mail for you today?

Two things: 1. Latest issue of Craft Beer & Brewing. 2. And totally unexpected a Northern Brewing Two Keg system, w/ regulator and 10# CO2 bottle. I posted a picture of my bottles on brew day and mentioned one day I’ll start kegging. Failed to mention my son-in-law bought it. He’s a business...

    Bottled beer didn't carbonate?

Well I ended up using my Fermentemp heater and InkBird controller to keep the temp ~74 degrees for three days now. How long should I wait before sampling again? Mine is a 5 gal batch, I primed with 5 oz corn sugar in the bottling bucket like I have previously. I did have flat/low carbonation...

What's your maximum capacity BIAB brews?

+1 I like that! I brew in the garage, but the open garage door makes a suspended pulley impossible. But I do have a Little giant ladder  Thanks

    Bottled beer didn't carbonate?

1+ Thanks! I'm having the same issue. Ambient temp where the beer is stored is 66-67 degrees. I will jostle the bottles and put a heating pad under them. I have 48 bottles -the one I'm testing now. Been in the bottles for 18 days. It tastes good but mostly flat.

    Extract brewer eyeing BIAB

Probably going to have to wait till after 1st if the year to pull the trigger on 3-4 hundred $ purchase. By then I will be decided what direction I go. Too many good options. But a 15 gal kettle w/ 1.5 TC port to head to electric brewing sounds very tempting. But so does AIO. Decisions...

    Extract brewer eyeing BIAB

All good input. I may buy a bag and try a smaller batch to get my feet wet with BIAB before I spend on the 15 gal kettle. Hadn’t really considered AIO so thats something else to look at. Thanks, Jw

    Extract brewer eyeing BIAB

This is what I've narrowed it down to at this point but the target has been moving. Currently I have an 8 gal kettle. I could make smaller size batches in what I have but. I'm thinking the Brewbuilt 15 gal w/whirllpool port kettle (I like that one), wilserbrewer Grandslam. I'll research and add...

There has to be a better way to drain BIAB over a kettle at mashout without using a hoist

I’m impressed with your even distribution of holes in the bottom of the bucket. I’m going to make one.👍

    Diacetyl rest and cold crash

Thanks for your input. I have been eyeballing BIAB for a while but waiting to spend the money. I haven't had an issue with transferring to a secondary YET. I don't open the primary fermenter to do so. I raise the primary above the secondary so I can gravity transfer, I sanitize transfer tubing...

    Diacetyl rest and cold crash

Hello, I’m sort of new to brewing, still doing extract kits mostly ales and IPAs. I’ve made some pretty good beers and some just eh. I’ve been racking to a secondary fermenter before dry hopping. Then up the temp by ~5 degrees for 24 hours or so and just started cold crashing on the last couple...

    hop baskets/hop spiders

I've been brewing for about a year now, still doing extract though the question is related to hop additions during boil. I'm beginning to think a hop spider would be better than mesh bags. Are there drawback using SS mesh hop spiders. Looking for suggestions and or experience. And...

    What are you drinking now?

I;m drinking my Pliny the Elder recipe, that was flat after bottle conditioning for >14 days @ 62 degrees. Moving to a warmer spot 67 degrees it's healed.

    Help! My beer is flat..

I'm happy to report all is not lost. Using the advice from several members (thanks) I moved the batch to a warmer place, on the bed in extra room. And agitated it a bit to get the yeast in suspension. After two days I tested one there's some carbonation, two more days and nearly normal...

    Coffee Bean Grinder

I also have a Baratza Virtuoso Preciso and love it too. And Baratza technical support is great. I've repaired mine a couple times. I have an espresso machine and make espresso/americano exclusively.
