Two Vessel No Sparge has become my favorite setup. Check it out!

I agree. My old 2 vessel, KRIMS system was fun but overly complicated and, like everything with this hobby, it kept growing with valves, etc. It felt like I was outsmarting myself and ended up spending too much time in the garage cleaning all the equipment. At the beginning of this year, I...

    Recirculating hops in conical fermenter

That’s more recirculating than I’ve ever done. Not sure if you already dumped the batch but if not, time and cold temperature may help soften the bite. I would think there’s a fair amount of hop particles still in suspension causing the sharp taste. I’ve had a few batches that I considered...

    Looking for exhaust tips

This was my solution... 16" trash can top (used Dremel to cut hole) connected to 6" tabbed elbow, then to exhaust fan. Attached funnel drain for condensation that collects in the fan housing (orient fan so electrical components are on top, away from condensation). Works great...

Do commercial brewers purge kegs of oxygen?

That’s exactly what I’ve been doing. Was never sure I was getting a mostly purged keg without filling with Starsan first. Thanks.

Do commercial brewers purge kegs of oxygen?

I been utilizing fermentation gas to purge the (empty) keg. Do you think it would be significantly more effective to wait some time after the start of fermentation (to purge as much O2 as possible from the fermenter headspace) and then connect it to a liquid filed keg? Curious to know if that...

Do commercial brewers purge kegs of oxygen?

On the purge at each psi, do you pressurize and remove gas fitting, then release the keg pressure until no more gas escapes? Also, do you wait at all for any separation of gases before the subsequent purges?

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I've recirculated hops with good results but have noticed that it takes longer for the "hop harshness" to subside. Recently, I've been injecting CO2 through the dump port to rouse the dry hops. I attach the 2" butterfly valve directly to the conical bottom and attach the "capped" elbow to...

Spike Conical- observations and best practices

I pressure ferment @ 8-10psi and use the fermentation gas to purge my 2, 2.5 gallon kegs so the beer is lightly carbonated and subject to foaming. Once fermentation is complete, I disconnect the kegs from the system while I wait to transfer. When ready, I purge a jumper from my still...

Spike Conical- observations and best practices

Thanks! Giving it a go on my next brew. What is your sight-glass/butterfly valve(s)/elbow sequence starting at the dump port?

Spike Conical- observations and best practices

Similar process used here. I've been using a pump to recirculate the dry hops in my CF-5 (up through the dump port and out the racking arm). Works well but I'd like to try the Co2 bubble up method to make for less work and an easier cleanup. What is your psi setting? How many times do you...

Spike Conical- observations and best practices

Not sure if this has already beed suggested but I now apply a thin coat of keg-lub to the gasket after noticing a slight pressure drop when fermenting @ 10psi. It's been holding tight ever since. Good luck.

    Liquid post won’t connect

Not sure if you resolved the issue but a dab of keg lube on the post o-ring might help.

    Spike cf10 racking arm

See page 2. https://f.hubspotusercontent20.net/hubfs/7288227/Conical Cutaway Drawings.pdf My question is... does the .6 gallons include the liquid in the elbow or is it just to the bottom of the conical. The elbow is illustrated in the drawing so I assume it's included.

    Help with Auber ezboil dspr-320

After referring to the manual, It was the “bAST” setting that I lowered to 0 to correct the issue. Sorry for the confusion.

    Help with Auber ezboil dspr-320

I had the same issue. As I recall, adjusting the “bout” setting corrected it. I think I changed the output setting (default is 100%) lower, maybe to 0. Not nearby my controller to confirm. Good luck.
