My main concern would be towards the end when ramping up pressure to start carbonating. Would carbonation affect the readings like it does with a standard hydrometer?

Thanks everyone! Yea, I have a habit of making things more complicated. I think I'll drop the idea of the heat stick and go with normal BIAB procedures. I may try filtering through voile on the way to the fermenter. May help with aeration. @shetc - I'll give that kettle a closer look.

A little off topic. Using a window ac unit, rather than rigging it up to dunk the evap into a cooler, what would it take to make tube in a tube evaporator and recirculate the glycol?

For those that ferment under pressure, testing in the later stages is testing carbonated wort. Do you have any plans to test accuracy/ease of use with carbonated wort?
