Are Beersmith Normally So Slow To Respond?

I don't want to start an argument here as brewing is supposed to be fun. The two verification questions are captures which don't (or shouldn't) require human approval. And yes I run several Facebook Group for the industry I am involved in, but that is not relevant. And there is no need for IP...

Are Beersmith Normally So Slow To Respond?

I did not know that, so yes I will. However I run a business with two people and we get back to people in a timely manner. It seems strange that when you sign up for the software you do not get forum access at the same time. Also the only information you have to give to get access is your email...

Are Beersmith Normally So Slow To Respond?

I have had the software for a few months now (paying dues). Registered on the forum yesterday morning and my request is still awaiting admin approval. Software is great, but you can always tell a companies ethos by their customer service. Hopefully this is just a one off.

Question About Beersmith Software / Kettle Losses

I have just started using Beersmith as I am now developing my own recipes and have found it very useful. However I cannot find where to add in kettle losses into my equipment? Also when I add water to the main list, altering the amount of water does not affect the OG, but altering water in My...

Anyone Made a Beer with Grain and Hop Leftovers?

I brew beer about once every two weeks. I buy 2-row pale and a few hops in bulk, but generally I order grains and hops on an as-needed basis. For example I have a few ounces of Crystal 60L, some Briess Victory and some Carapils left over from previous brews. I also have between .25oz - .50oz of...

    Experimenting with CO2

Read about forced carbonation. It will get your beer fully carbonated in about a day or two. If you pressurised the keg to 30psi to seal, you are already halfway there.

Mishaps you are embarrassed to admit...but can here, we're all friends.

I set up my new BIAB electric kettle with topsflow pump and loc-line coming out under the lid. I was very proud of myself. I was cleaning the system with PBW. I hung the lid on the kettle handle while I was doing other stuff. I switched the pump on to recirculate the PBW through the system and...

Question About a Bad Batch of Beer

Thank for the reply, but this issue is more than just priming. The beer has a greyish color and tastes off. So I think an infection snook in there somewhere.

Question About a Bad Batch of Beer

No I didn't as I do not have the equipment at the moment, but it is something I am looking into. Carbonation was done with sugar/water (according to the recipe) and added to the bottling bucket. Yes the are stored at room temp and then transferred to the fridge. However 2 weeks to the day I do...

Question About a Bad Batch of Beer

No offence taken. But in my defence I only started brewing about 18 months ago and the 4-5 batches included ones when I was first starting and making some mistakes. Have not had a bad batch for a while which is why I asked the question. I consider my cleaning and sanitation to be good.

Question About a Bad Batch of Beer

I know there are many different reasons for a beer going bad, but wondered if any of you experts recognise this so I can learn what went wrong. I have brewed probably 50 batches, and have only had 4-5 go bad so I think my cleaning and sanitisation is generally good. But want to learn for the...

What Causes Hazy Beer To Be Clear Occasionally

Yes from the same batches both times it happened. Clear beer perhaps tastes very slightly more bitter, but no off smells or tastes. Anything is possible after a few of them.......

What Causes Hazy Beer To Be Clear Occasionally

I have had this happen a couple of times. This is an IPA extract kit from Craft-A-Brew. I brewed it a few times over the last year before moving onto BIAB. The first time this happened I thought it was just a one off and didn't really take much notice, but now this has happened a second time...
