    2013 Hop Rhizome Presale!

No clue if they're looking great or not since I have no reference for it, but I did receive them and planted the Mt. Hood. Now I just have to find a spot for the other 5... thinking about big pots for now, since I don't have much ground on the southern exposed side of the house.

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

I hear ya. It is difficult to get the right ratio of spiced up tomato juice and beer. I've tried it quite a bit using different mixes including Clamato and it just never turns out as balanced as the BL Chelada. The BL waters it down perfectly while providing the sparkle and just a tiny flavor...

    SERIOUSLY Sam Adams

Picked up a sixer of SA IPL yesterday. I wanted to get a lager or something of the sort because I was getting mostly IPAs and IIPAs and what not (scored a couple Plinys too; bottled 04/10/13 and freakin' delicious). It is a really tasty, slightly fruity, but not too heavy beer. It was nice...

    SERIOUSLY Sam Adams

I too have avoided Sam due to some funky bottles, but that was a while back when I wasn't as... advanced as I am today. I trust mr. horse, so I'm gonna pick some up next time I'm at the store.

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

I like those Cheladas honestly. It's a nice, tangy, sparkly drink. The Bud Light version is best since BL is so tasteless. Way better than any other pre-made mix or what not out there. I'm a big bloody mary fan, but sometimes they can be a bit too thick on a really hot day. Those Cheladas solve...

    Trader Joe's Juice Experiments

I have a bottle of blackberry crush that has been sitting for a few months. I've heard that it tastes really great, but I was afraid to try it because the last drink I made with some cran-pom (also highly recommended) thing was pretty hoochy. I probably didn't let that age enough, so I was...

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

Man, I just struggled through 2 sixers of Hazed and Infused by Boulder Brewing that I bought for a party like 3 weeks ago. Terrible, terrible beer. I couldn't even give them away once people had given them a taste, and this is a crowd that enjoys a fine craft beer, as most were enjoying Rogue...

Oh snap, I totally forgot about this. I gotta do some digging. Better find the shovel...

    Another US-05 experiment... temperature fluctuations

Can you post a link to where you're buying?

    First Timer (Mr. Beer)

Like the two dudes above said; get those beers out of the fridge or all you're going to have is cold, flat beer. Follow BigJack's instructions and you'll be good to go (although you could have one after a few days of the "cold condition" phase he mentioned just to see how green beer tastes).

Want to show off my "new" bottle capper

That is really fantastic. I like the idea that you're carrying on the tradition with his equipment. It'd be cool to keep passing it on. How many gallons of alcohol will it bottle? No one knows except the capper. Great job on the reconditioning too.

Does 22 oz. bottles take longer to carb than 12

OK. Make that because you didn't read the instructions or figure it out by due process...

Does 22 oz. bottles take longer to carb than 12

OK. Make that because you've not used Mr. Beer kits.

Does 22 oz. bottles take longer to carb than 12

The reason it is telling you to flip and the reason no one has heard of this is because you are priming individual bottles. Flipping is clearly just a way to make sure the sugar is all mixed up. You should batch prime instead anyway if you can.

    Legal?

Why is competition and judging indicated separately in the wording? What is the definition of tasting in this context? Are they just repeating themselves for fun? Personally, I don't agree with you that there is a clear idea of what a tasting is, because they don't even seem to know; they're...

    Legal?

Any lawyer worth his/her salt will rip that CA language to threads. Where is the legal definition for most of what they are saying? What constitutes a "tasting," anyway? Pretty sure if I drink a beer I am tasting it. Pretty sure that an "organized affair" could be me calling my buddy and saying...

Am I going to get in trouble?

You all are a malicious bunch! It was more or less an accident on OP's part. Nothing happened except for some littering. Maybe OP will rectify that by going back and cleaning up the trash he left + more.

Am I going to get in trouble?

I suppose it probably ultimately depends on the law in your area about that sort of thing. There are probably ordinances on file that you can look up to see if you've done wrong.
