    air lock mishap

The beer will be fine, plenty of CO2 being produced. Be patient Also, don't sweat the little things, there are homebrewers who primary ferment without a lid and make great beer.

    Fermenting in corny keg question

Air lock solution, if you have not done this yet https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/corny-fermenter-airlock-74962/ https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/converting-corny-keg-into-fermenter-162688/#post1881075

    Fermenting in corny keg question

I would crash the beer before moving to another corny. I don’t think the dip tube will get clogged given enough pressure, although I think lower pressure would yield the most yeast. You can pull off trub throughout fermentation, similar to using a conical fermentor. I do not think you...

storage for dme, what are you doing?

    Ferment longer???

If you were really aiming to reproduce the same beer, the yeast strain needs to be the same as well as th fermentation temperature.

    Ferment longer???

sounds like you did many things different. Yeast is extremely important, even more so when dealing with hefe's. When you say it tastes bitter, does it taste like cloves?

    Ferment longer???

Did you use a different yeast strain?

    Is this method ok?

** this is what I do** immediatley after keggging I hook up gas, and purge all air out then fill it with gas, dissconect and let sit until I want to carbonate, usually immedately. Typically I will let tthe beer sit 3 days with 30 psi. Less psi = more time, this decision is up to the brewer...

Making a hoppy low gravity beer

Right on. To clarify this question earlier: "Residual extract is the amount of gravity remaining in the finished beer if you take into account the amount of alcohol (which is lighter than water) that is also in the beer. For example, there is a lot more carbohydrates in a beer that goes...

Making a hoppy low gravity beer

Sounds like it would work, just like topping off an extract batch. I have never done this though

Making a hoppy low gravity beer

your numbers show you topping off with close to 3 gallons, your post boil gravity before you top off will be closer to 1.090

Making a hoppy low gravity beer

good software, can you calculate what your gravity would be before you topped off to get your batch size of 5 gal? I dont see why you couldnt do an all grain partial boil if your gravity was high enough.

Where are you getting/calculating the numbers for your volumes?

    Input on AG System Design

Right on, I like the second design, you will not be limited based on the recipe and you can potentially convert back and forth from the first and second design

    Input on AG System Design

If you are after simplicity (process, time, clean up, etc..), you should brew in a bag. You dont even have to sparge if you use extra grain. Although I recommend sparging
