For me I get a similar post boil volume, then roughly 6-6.25 in the fermenter, and 5 to final kegging. Tons of loss due to trub / additional dry hops.

Yeh it’s a bit tricky but just make sure it’s sanitized obviously and that the siphon is in the filter. The just sort of guide / drop it in. Because it’s a bit shorter than the neck like you mentioned it’s a bit of a pain to get back out — but no biggy. One other thing i’ve found is that...

Same here. Great aroma and much easier process wise. A lot less can go wrong. I’ve been doing on DH for quite some time and been super pleased.

Thanks that answered a lot of my questions! Looks like maybe adding the honey when you would add a dry hop at peak fermentation (may be day 2-3) would be the best bet.

Id agree some of their beers I might be able to convince myself a straight 1318 profile. Others though, I can’t. DDH Dunley Place comes to mind as one that was super peach to me. Pretty much reeked of some conan — and I agree I can’t figure out how the hell to pull peach out of conan...

I did 15 min left. Also I did started fermentation at 64 and slowly ramped up to 71 over the course of ~10 days.

Having had a lot of their beers I really get a feeling that their yeast blend must contain both 1318 and conan — not sure past that. Really surprised by the hate in this thread. Aslin and Triple Crossing are a better version of Treehouse nowadays in my opinion.

Put an iteration of this recipe + madagascar vanilla beans and a bit of cinnamon in a small 10gal fresh Apple Brandy barrel for a few months. A buddy who is a BJCP judge said it’s high 30s/low 40s scoring wise. It’s outstanding.
