British Yeasts, Fermentation Temps and Profiles, CYBI, Other Thoughts...

Drinking it quickly shouldn't be a problem as I kicked both of my taps within the last two days. I don't get to brew as much as i would like to at the moment, so I don't have many things waiting to go on tap. Based upon what I have read here, I am going to follow the flavor development...

British Yeasts, Fermentation Temps and Profiles, CYBI, Other Thoughts...

I feel like I have just accomplished something major, after reading all 42 pages of this thread over the last week. I have been trying to brew a good ESB for the last year and half. I have come very close, and kept thinking to myself that it tasted way to clean. ( I had that epiphany after I...

Frigidaire 9 CF Chest Freezer - Suitability?

My concern would be that your are measuring the temp in one carboy, and depending on the pace of fermentation you could have different temps in each carboy. i.e. if fermentation takes off faster in carboy one, the temp may be higher than carboy two.

Frigidaire 9 CF Chest Freezer - Suitability?

No apologies for the long post needed. As to the over height and moving carboys, I'am 6'3" and I already have the harnesses for my carboys. They are great, and make moving around carboys very easy. I would never think of moving a full carboy (especially glass) without one again. This...

Frigidaire 9 CF Chest Freezer - Suitability?

Just bumping an old thread, to see if the OP went with this model. I was considering it for the same thing, fermentation chamber for two carboys (although I use glass)

JockeyBox.. What part do I need?

Whats going on Brett. This is a semi permanent solution. While I have no immediate plans to place it into a square cooler, I can easily envision an excuse to pick up another 120 SS coil and have two faucets. Unless I am able to find something to work without going to the trouble of cutting...

JockeyBox.. What part do I need?

There is also a 20' section of 1/4" on my as well, the problem I have is that I want to use it is a round cooler and it doesn't line up flush with the walls for me to attach the stainless directly to the shank. So I want to put flex on the end so I can put the beer in, and the faucet anywhere...

JockeyBox.. What part do I need?

Thats what I want to do, but I need some way to attach it to the end of my SS Coil.

JockeyBox.. What part do I need?

That is sort of what I need but it is too small. A faucet shank is 7/8" while that is 1/4". I was looking for something like that. I just can't find the right size. I have looked at Midwest supply, micromatic, kegconnection and a few other places. I figure this can't be an unusual problem.

JockeyBox.. What part do I need?

I have a 120ft Stainless steel coil, with flared ends that have a hex nut on them to connect directly to a faucet shank. I want to put a tailpiece on the end so that I can connect it to a piece of flexible beer tube before it connects to the faucet shank. I can't seem to find anything that...

    Small Jockey Box

I think you may have talked me down from the SS Coil, and into cold plate. This will also alleviate the concern of having to use an insane pressure to push the beer. While I expect to go through the kegs in an afternoon for this event, during Thanksgiving I usually have the beer on tap for a...

    Small Jockey Box

I have been looking into the cold plate idea as well, but everything I looked at seemed to point to me being better off with a coil. I figure I will need to be able to pull 2 in succession, every 5-10 minutes or so. The other issue, I have with the cold plates are that they need ice and not...

    Small Jockey Box

Thanks, but that's not going to work for this particular situation. Beer will be served by bartender, and the last thing I need is to have them is constantly changing the 12gram Co2 Cartridges. If the 20oz Cannisters are any good, I am willing to give them a go, but if there is any issue with...

    Small Jockey Box

I am providing ten gallons of a single beer to an event with a good number of people. After reading countless threads on the matter, I have decided on biding a small jockey box, single tap, with a 120 ft of SS coil. I want the coil large enough to be able to handle a near constant flow of...

    Stuck Fermentation

Taste it? What a crazy idea! What is funny, is that while I probably tasted it when i took the reading, I for the life of me have no recollection of it. I will give it another taste when I take a reading in another couple of days.

    Stuck Fermentation

I'll wait it out for a few days and then take another reading to see what happens. I very rarely take a reading this early, but it was a good opportunity to do so. I wanted to move it to a secondary to free up my larger carboys, which I use for primaries, for a the beer I brewed this weekend.

    Stuck Fermentation

I have already moved into a secondary, so that option is no longer available to me.

    Stuck Fermentation

I have what i think is a stuck fermentation. One week ago I brewed 10 gallons of an ESB with an initial gravity of 1.058. I used the large WYEAST London Ale, but do to a screw up, I was not able to step it up. So I under-pitched. To make matters worse, it got really hot last week and I had...
