NFL Free Agency - Like what your team's doing?

I see the Browns are in talks with Lewis, he could be a decent addition to the RB core. Hell Droughns has not really paned out. Now if they could only get an offensive line that was healthy we might be able to win a few more games! :mug:

    Ingredient Beer Kits

I gotten kits from both Austin Homebrew Supply and Northern Brewer and both come with yeast. It's optional for the Austin kits and the NB kits come with Wyeast smack packs (I think you can request others). Both were good. I would recommend either.

Is it OK to use an aluminium brew pot?

I just bought a turkey fryer and it came with a 30qt aluminum pot. Will it be OK to use or will I get a metal taste in my beer?

Will my beer ever taste good?

Yeah I'm hoping that I don't have to do that with these two batches, it would suck:( I'm actually hoping that if the taste does not mellow and get better that it is due to the lid being on and not an infection or something else bad. At least that would mean that I did everything else at...

Will my beer ever taste good?

One Step and I rinsed even though it is a "No rinse" cleaner. So there should be no reason that it should have an off flavor due to the sanitizer. I wonder if a few of the other people are on to something with the low temp that my bottles are sitting at and that it is giving me serious lag...

Will my beer ever taste good?

    1. Yes I have been steeping grains all along. Both for about 20 min at 150F. 2. My fermentation temp is the same as bottling temp (same room) 62-64F. Should I let them sit in primary longer than the 1 week even though the gravity seems to be OK and there are no more bubbles in the air lock? 3...

Will my beer ever taste good?

My first batch was an extract kit; Burche's Nut Brown Ale using dried Nottingham yeast. All the gravities seemed to be in range OG - FG. I followed the 1-2-3 method, one week in primary (bubbling was done after 3 days) two weeks in secondary (everything seemed pretty calm, no extra bubbling)...

Will I have fermentation problems? Sorry for the long post.

Well it's Sunday and I'm going to brew my Cream Stout today. The starter has pretty much finished fermenting and seems to have quite a bit of settlement. Now the question is that I have about 800 ML total in the flask, do I pour off some of the spent wort and the mix in the yeast slurry? Or do I...

Will I have fermentation problems? Sorry for the long post.

I ordered a Sweet Stout extract kit from Northern Brewer along with an ESB extract kit. When I received the delivery the smack pack for the Stout was kind of crunchy, there still was some liquid but some of it was crunchy. The other smack pack for the ESB was fine. I called NB and told them the...

Not so new guy from Western Mass.

Yeah we have gone back and forth in a few different topics/questions that I have had. I just figured that I have never 'officially' introduced myself. But thanks and HI.

Not so new guy from Western Mass.

I've posted several times but never did a formal introduction. My wife and I started brewing a month or two ago. We have a Nut Brown Ale in bottles, Honey Amber Bitter in secondary and Bass Ale Clone in primary. I'm originally from Cleveland, OH and my wife and I met in the Army while we...

    MoreBeer Catalog

I just placed an order with Northern Brewer, have you done any business with them? They do have a sweet catalog.

    OK, so what's going on??

Naww the only stupid question is the one not asked. Yeah it seems to be in there pretty good, I don't want to press too hard and risk breaking the top of the carboy. Yup there is water in the bubbler. I may try a different cap (I also have one of those siphon caps, you know the two nippled red...

    OK, so what's going on??

I have a American Honey Bitter ale that has been in secondary for two weeks. There are no bubbles in the airlock, however you can see a flurry of activity going on. If you stare at it (this seems to be a favorite pastime for myself and many people in here) you can see like a swirling of 'stuff'...

    Could I just boil more??

The fryer actually belongs to my wifes cousin, so we are just borrowing the burner to see how it works and how the brew session goes. If all goes well then I will probably be getting a burner, if I can get a fryer with a pot then that would be better. When you talk about hops, does that mean...

    Could I just boil more??

I was a knuckle head when I bought my brew pot and only got a 5 gallon size:drunk: It has been working out fine doing partial boils @ around 3 gallons then toping off to 5 gallons prior to pitching. My question is can I just increase the amount of wort to boil to 4 gallons and follow the...

    Growler Screw-tops

I just bottled a growler using the same plastic cap that you describe with a nut brown ale. We only did one growler as a test, if it does not explode and holds the fizz then we know that we can use them! I had a big discussion on this very topic on several forums and the general consensus was...

Is there a need for a brew shop in Western Mass, USA?

Is that the name of the place "Hennessy"? I'm curious how many other people in the area are home brewers.

Is there a need for a brew shop in Western Mass, USA?

I am new to home brewing and noticed that the closest brewing supply store is in Northampton, MA. I live in Berkshire County and traveling an hour away for supplies is not exactly the easiest thing, especially with small kids to cart around. So what I'm wondering is what kind of demand is...
