    Bootleg Biology OSLO

Has anyone tested the upper limits of alcohol tolerance for this yeast? I've brewed 5 beers with Oslo thus far, highest being 8.6%abv baltic porter that went from 1.085 to 1.019 in three days with ease. Im thinking this will have no problem at 10%. Oslo makes nice crushable beer out of...

Blichmann 1BBL Gas RIMS pilot system

I bought this a few months ago as a pilot system, but ran into some space issues so unfortunately it's not going to work. I've never brewed beer with it. I did one water run and that's it. Works like a dream and it pains me to have to take this loss but maybe it can be your gain. I would...

    Bootleg Biology OSLO

    I put a 1.087 baltic porter on this ^ yeast cake. Mashed at 155. Fermented at 78. Reached FG in 5 days - 1.022. 8.5%, 73%AA.

    The Yeast Bay Amalgamation II

I brewed this on 3/1 and it went from 1.052 to 1.010 in 8 days. Krausen only hung around for a day or two and wasn't anything spectacular. The sample taste on day 8 was in a weird spot, some phenols, but crazy big citrus too so I decided to not check back until the end of the month. It was at...

    Bootleg Biology Aurora Kveik

    Bootleg Biology OSLO

It's not crystal clear, but it did a decent job. Here is 6 days from brewday w/o crashing (sorry for the gigantic pic)

    The Yeast Bay Amalgamation II

Initially i'd say the starter process and size for brett is a little off here, you might be okay though. I stepped up Amalgamation II to 2L (did not decant did not refrigerate) over a few weeks and pitched it into 1.052 wort at 75F and krausen started forming at the end of the second day. Mine...

    Bootleg Biology OSLO

34/70? TBD. I just drank the beer sample from the hydrometer tube, not the best for tasting notes. Once I get it bottle conditioned, chilled and poured into a proper glass i'll be able to give some more thoughts about the yeast profile. Initially though, I'm impressed with the performance.

    Bootleg Biology OSLO

I made an 500ml starter with Oslo and pitched it into 100% Pilsner 1.053 wort at 78F on 4/5/19. I ramped it up to 90 over the following days and today it's at 1.009. 82% AA. Very clean, lager like, just like the description says. 36IBUs of Hallertau M'fruh and Spalt coming through nicely...

NEEPAH IPA Blend - Bootleg Biology

Update on both the NEIPA and the English-style pale with NEEPAH: The English-style pale rounded out nicely and the mid palate bitterness is gone. I think I still prefer LAIII for this style to NEEPAH as I get a bit more English style esters out of LAIII. Hard to tell without side by side...

NEEPAH IPA Blend - Bootleg Biology

I pitched at 68 yesterday, it's holding at 70 this morning after 12 hours. Needed a blowoff w/ a second gen pitch of NEEPAH into 1.062, it was crawling out of the fermenter this morning. I'm typically in the keg in 12-14 days, then don't really start drinking it for two more weeks.

NEEPAH IPA Blend - Bootleg Biology

I fermented a 30ibu English-style pale with this yeast a couple of weeks ago. I've brewed the same recipe about a dozen times with LAIII, this is the first time making a change using NEEPAH and there is a tannic bitterness on the mid palate at about 12 days coming out of the fermenter. I...

Suggestions on how to finish this RIS

Figured i'd follow up on this in case anyone else faces the same dilemma- plus I've read several threads here before that the OP didn't follow up and I sat there wondering "wonder what ever happened with that?" I ended up debating about what to do for another month after I started this...

Suggestions on how to finish this RIS

Thanks for the suggestions, i'm going with #5, pacman slurry. While it's still really tempting to just turn this beer into a weird experiment and throw brett and bugs at it, I think i'll save that idea for a beer I plan, rather than taking this one to an unintended destination. Thanks again...
