Looking for very simple stout recipe.

My favorite "Stout" beer is Muntons Gold Imperial Stout. And it couldn't be simpler. Almost too easy... The "kit" is just 2 cans of extract. It also includes some dry yeast but I like to use White Labs WLP007 Dry English Ale Yeast. These kits make 40 pints and are only $23.39 from Brew Gadgets.

Who has done this (contaminated beer)?

You guys are great! I guess I should not have been quite so quick to pull the plug. I know that Starscan is non-toxic, but I was not too sure about what a largish quantity would do to the beer. Also the very dark brown water from my blowoff jug had been sitting open for a week. So mixing...

Who has done this (contaminated beer)?

Thanks for the advice. I know that the beer probably would have not have been "unsafe" to drink. However, I would not want to actually put that to the test... This was quite a bit of Starscan...

Who has done this (contaminated beer)?

OK confession time. Today I ruined an entire 6 gallon batch of beer. I was starting to bottle my beer when I realized I had not removed my blow-off tube and bottle from my fermenter. I tap from the bottom and the contiminated water in my blow-off bottle was sucked down into my primary. This...

    Sam Adams Octoberfest

Does anyone have an all malt extract recipe for a beer like Sam Adams "Octoberfest" ? So far I have only made beer using liquid malt beer kits. I like the 2 can Muntons Gold kits. I am making my beer with no Dextrose sugar now and it taste great. However, I want to start branching out into...

No carbonation in bottle after 3 weeks

Well you were all right again. My beer did carbonate after about 6 weeks. I did as suggested and shook the bottles to redistribute the sugar/aerate. The yeasties woke up and ate the sugar. My thought is still that perhaps the Danstar yeast does such a good job of dropping out of suspension...

No carbonation in bottle after 3 weeks

I think most of the corn sugar I added to prime is still at the bottom of the bottles. I will give them all a good shake and wait a couple more weeks to see if I get any action. Thanks Raven

No carbonation in bottle after 3 weeks

I am new to home brewing. So far I have brewed up 6 batches using Muntons Gold beer malt kits. Anyway, up till this last batch I had no problems and my beer turned out great! This last time however I ran into trouble. My fermentation was basicly normal and was completed in about 7 days...
