It sounds like your fermentation was going fine. Give the yeast some time to finish doing it's thing and check your FG when it's closer to bottling time.

Anyway, I have never done a kit beer but I seem to recall Charlie Papazian saying something like you should always boil (even the no boil kits).
Check you LHBS or Staples for "Dried Gummed Label Paper". You print to it, cut your labels, wet you bottle and stick. It's fairly easy to apply and remove.
