HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Not sure what the difference is between running that as sudo vs su, but the permission denied error is gone, but my devices and settings still don't save on restart.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

I am having a problem with my BrewPi, it will not save the settings when I restart. I am not using a Pi but instead I have it installed on my home server running Ubuntu 16.04. After researching this it seems I need to reset the data in EEPROM. Problem is when I run that I get permission denied...

    Acetaldehyde in Lager

I just poured a pint of it, and this flavor is all you get on the nose, it is very overpowering. Taste is similar, this flavor is very overpowering and it dominates the palate. I have also never experienced green apple smell and/or taste so I am really flying blind on this, I am assuming that...

    Thermostat Problem?

Is there a screw on the thermostat itself that could adjust it? Sounds like the stat just isn't shutting it off.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Any of you guys using the SS Brewtech Brew Buckets? I am considering getting one and trying to figure out if the on with the thermowell is worth it figuring I have a thermowell and would be using brewpi. I realize I'd have to drill a hole for it but I know its been done. @Thorrak How much of...

    S-23 Lager Question

Quick update, I have been fermenting at 55, took a gravity reading yesterday (day 4 of fermentation), gravity was down to 1.014 with BeerSmith having an expected FG of 1.010. Have ramped up to 60 and will probably get to 65 by Sunday and let it go for a little bit. I tasted the sample, did not...

    S-23 Lager Question

@ba-brewer That schedule looks pretty good, I may have to take a reading in a few days and start the bump a little early. Looks pretty foolproof as far as diacytel. @tgolanos Good to hear you enjoy both yeast, I am curious how this ends up, brew day went well so hopefully end up with a good...

    S-23 Lager Question

@ba-brewer I figured I could do it quicker, I wasn't really sure if I was going to slow honestly. Also you say you start at 50 and bump it every couple of days, I take it you are doing day 0 50, day 2 52, day 4 54... I was definitely wondering if waiting to day ten to start bumping is waiting...

    S-23 Lager Question

I am doing a lager with S-23, last lager I did I used W-34/70 and did a diactyl rest but still got some diactyl in the final product. I have no experience with S-23 and was wondering how my fermentation schedule looks. Recipe: 9.5# Pilsner 2 row mashed at 148 for 70 minutes. 60 min boil...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZF1ZSZ/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 That's what I used, worked well. You have to buy way more than you'll ever need but I didn't have to do any soldering.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

You should be able to give it a static ip via your router. If you don't do that it will keep changing, even though with it on it really shouldn't change.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

I read somewhere that I should only raise the temperature a couple of degrees a day so I just entered that manually. Your way is probably a lot less work and accomplishes the same thing. Question, took a reading of 1.02 with an expected FG of 1.012, should I raise the temp a little more...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Has anyone tried to run the master branch of brewpi-www with the legacy branch of brewpi? It's bothering me that for example the site doesn't use all the available space. I'd try it but I'm in the middle of a brew and don't want to screw something up. Also is there a thread where people post...

    Kegging question

You can't just put it in the kegerator or keezer, hook it up to the CO2 and let it carb while it lagers?
