    So who's brewing this weekend?

Mashing a saison currently. Will dry hop this beer with Nelson Sauvin per a recipe in the Ale section on HBT. I brewed one with Mosaic in November and it was so good... Looking forward to sharing this beer on the patio this summer with friends and family. Dan

Mixed-Fermentation Sour Beer Really Easy Fruit Sour

I haven’t kegged it that way, but my samples at 2 weeks taste really good prior to adding fruit. It is, however, pretty one-dimensional without something else going on. I think even the right hop used for a light dry hop could make this a great beer. Dan

What I did for beer today

Good for you. You can beat this, but you have to be a fighter.😄

German Helles Exportbier Silver Medal 2016 Bluegrass Cup - Dortmunder Export

Yes, this was a very good beer and it went quickly. I should have given it more time, as it got better after 3-4 weeks in the keg. Glad yours is good as well. No need to cry, you know how to make beer! Dan

    Today I screwed up by...

Letting my 5lb CO2 tank empty itself through a disconnected ball lock connector 😭

Best advice to give a new brewer?

I try to avoid brews until my mash tun is cleaned out, otherwise it may not get done! I typically clean it out once the boil is stabilized and rolling along. Dan

Need temperature setting suggestion for Keezer

Yeah, though it doesn’t matter for probably all of the chest freezers out there, you might as well turn it all of the way up (down? I mean the coldest setting) to ensure it’s out of the way if you want to turn your controller down to something just above freezing for cold crashing, etc. Dan

Taking pictures of objects though beer..

Wow, that first one is an awesome shot. And that second one; my oldest son had Sophie the giraffe when he was lil. I don’t know if we named it that, or if that was the toy name but he had the same one.

    No boil sour

I do one co-pitch beer every few months with US-05 and lacto (sour pitch) with no hops. It’s incredibly easy and always makes a great sour. I will be adding a small dry hop in to my current one to stop the souring process at a slightly less tart level to see what I think. Ive aged them all on...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Do you share a lot of your beer? I go through 5gal batches pretty quick but I’m not sure what I’d do with 22gal! Dan
