First All Gain Attempt - Ed Wort's Haus Pale Ale

Thanks for the explanation. I have done filtering with the grain bed like that, just never knew it had a name. One word to replace the phrase "filtering through the grain bed" is pretty efficient though.

    My wife likes blondes

I did a warm-up the wort sort of decoction. I didn't get to the point of reduction or carmelization etc, just trying to keep the temps up. OK, I broke my stand-tube for the second time. The first it was still serviceable if not purrty. It is now gone. I couldn't find any reasonable, or even...

    Bocher-Hoppy BOCK :-)

It was a very good beer from the reviews of my friends. I honestly don't know how the one bomber survived. It was a Mai Boch from recollection "The Best of BREW Your Own" 250 Classic Clone Recipies." It was in the fridge for most of three years and in my closet fora bout another 1-1/2. It had...

I need a trip to da UP. My brother has a chalet at Powderhorn. There's a hot tub and my equipment is portable. One of my favorite places to get a fish fry and a Widowmaker is at Pub-n-grub. I was going to bottle today. Due to poor planning, I only sterilized bottles. I got a chiller after...

    Bocher-Hoppy BOCK :-)

A bottle of this was dragged to her office, sat in a fridge for a few years and brought back home. It aged marvelously. It gained hints of raisins, whiskey and oak. I shared the last bomber with a friend whom I knew would appreciate it. She no longer works at that company. Now I should make one...
