I just experienced the same thing with a blonde ale that I brewed, but I think it has something to do with my CFC. I'll just end up cold crashing it with some gelatin and call it good.

I personally prefer 2 row, but that's just me. I think it depends on what types styles you mostly brew, or I could be way off base. Go with your gut.

Yeah, it's taking off now. I'm 99% sure I just pitched at too high of a temp. I get what you're saying though, I do need to make starters going forward to avoid a slow start.

It had no activity as of last night, so rather than risk an infection, I just hydrated some US05 and pitched it. I'll see what we have in about 2 weeks.

I did aerate, and there are very, very, small pin tip sized bubbles around the edge of the carboy, and two small clusters in the middle. I've already bumped it 2°F over the past ~12 hours. We are at 46 hours on this batch, since I placed it in the keezer, I just looked at my notes.

Yep, I didn't do a starter, then again I've only done one. I actually forgot to temp the wort after I ran through the CFC, and I think the real issue may be that it was too hot because I forgot to restrict the flow of the wort. But that's what happens when you try a double batch simultaneously...

Im having that same issue with wyeast 2565 kolsch yeast. I'm approaching 48 hrs and nothing. I did a double brew day and the blonde that I did is fine and has been bubbling away for at least 36 hours. How did the kolsch turn out?

Yep, it's got a healthy krausen now. I just switched from an IC setup to a pump and CFC, so that had to have been protien break, I'm just not used to seeing that in the fermenter like that, thought I'd picked up some funk maybe from the CFC or something. Though I'm pretty good about cleaning...

I just completed a double brew day and one of them was a blonde ale with wyeast 1318 London ale III. I've never used this strain but it appears that either I have an infection or the 1318 is taking off. Has anyone ever seen this a few hour after pitching?

I purchased a 3.25 lb tub of ALL oxi booster at Tom Thumb for $6.99, which is basically what I would have paid on Amazon for Oxi at 3 lbs. Only thing is Amazon won't deliver til next month, so...I'll take it.

Looks like ALL oxi laundry booster will work too. Only 2 ingredients.

Has anyone ever used this in place of the Oxiclean free? I can't seem to find it, but they do have the BIZ brand.

Ok, thanks. I hadn't seen the earlier post. So basically it's been determined that the oxiclean free @70% and the tsp/90 from red devil or lundmark @30% is all that's needed, 7th gen dishwashing granules aren't needed. Correct?

So this TsP\90 is trisodium phosphate? I found some at Lowes made by Savogran.
