    Paint-ball gas tanks

Since I'm making plans to get into kegging, and bottling with a beer gun, I've got more questions: I bought a couple of paint-ball gas tanks at the flea market for using when I start to keg. I've read they work good when you want to go mobile with a jockey box - but now I've been told that...

    My CO2 bottle ....

I just spent some time on the phone today talking to a welding supply about 2 hours away, and the person on the other end told me that CO2 has no moisture in it, so he wouldn't suspect any rust - that being said, I think your idea of running a hose from the regulator to a bowl of water is a good...

West Virginia Jaded Wasp IC & Refractometer

Chiller arrived in great condition, despite the USPS trying their best to crush the box ...... Thanks for the great packing job, Wagon 6! Now, with the help of a tubing bender, the wasp is about to become a Herms coil for my DIY system! I noticed Jaded no longer sells the Wasp, but sells a Herms...

    My CO2 bottle ....

Yeah, swapping tanks sounds like the better idea! I don't like the sound of 'possible' rust inside ;>)! Since I have no idea about whether or not there's rust, I think I'd be better off just blowing off the pressure and forget whatever is inside. It feels like it's full, but until I get the new...

    My CO2 bottle ....

I used to be an appliance serviceman and was able to buy used equipment sometimes. I still have a CO2 bottle/tank that I got about 20-25 years ago, along with a "carbonator pump" and a Coke syrup machine. I sold the Coke machine to a collector, but he didn't want the carbonator pump or the CO2...

    2 Breaker Box Questions 240v???

Well, it sounds like you two guys have all the relevant code books, etc., and the knowledge/experience to back you up, so with what little I might have helped, I'm outta here! I've gone just about as far as I can with my experience/knowledge from what I've learned over the past 50 or so years...

I'd like to convert this recipe!

Yeah, I've got and used Beersmith for other brews, but if you have no idea of what they might have used in the original LME and DME (in this case 'Super Flavex - whatever that may have been), my thought was to get other opinions as to which other grains may have been used in it's manufacture...

I'd like to convert this recipe!

Thanks, that's kinda what I was looking for ... what other malts that weren't in the 'special grains' that might have been in the "Super Flavex" and the DME! That'll give me a starting point. I've been using C120 in my own porter, and I've been thinking I may have to tweak it a little...

    2 Breaker Box Questions 240v???

I may have missed something in one of the posts, and an electrician MAY correct my assumption, BUT, if there is a ground bar on the main house panel, and there are 4 wires (red, black, white, and bare) running to the garage, it seems to me that IF the bare ground and the white common are...

I'd like to convert this recipe!

I'm hoping someone out there has an AG version of this recipe - I like Taddy, and I know there are a lot of recipes (a few of which I've tried, but NOT as good as the real thing!) I no longer have access to Taddy, so I'm hoping this can be converted (Edme Super Flavex is no longer available...

    Old Speckled Hen.

From pelipen - "Well, jury is out. (snip) I'm getting an interesting floral medicinal thing going on. It's not bandaid medicinal, it's like a chip of cough drop got in the glass. Kind of that belgian earthy phenolic funk thing." And this from Bugaboo, concerning the Lyles syrup - "To be honest...

    Old Speckled Hen.

I used an online converter - this is what it gave me for Orfy's original recipe in the locked thread; NUTS!! the color didn't come thru in the copy/paste - I'll get it. I hope this helps, as I didn't want to use any of the different ideas, just the original - then I'll maybe come back and look...

    2 Breaker Box Questions 240v???

I hope you are aware that you should have a GFCI for protection before you start running 240v extension cords for brewing! Any water/electric operation will, by most codes that I am aware of, WILL require a GFCI! Personally, I'd just look into the main box, and wire in a short run through the...

Bottling and Kegging - The Best of Both Worlds

Interesting, Maple Syrup! I can get that at Costco pretty reasonable. I've got the kegs, got the CO2 bottle, just need to get new gauges for the CO2. I've never kegged before, but it would really save some time when brewing. Then I could bottle at will!

Cheap DIY Option for a Motorized Grain Mill

Great article - nice, clear instructions for DIY. That Motor/gearbox is on eBay for $24.50 in case anyone is looking for one. http://www.ebay.com/sch/?_nkw="John Deere Gator, Polaris 700 Motor" I'll probably look to get one someday, but right now, I have other things more pressing - ....

Brewing with Chocolate, Methods and Process

Great article, thanks, you've filled in some blanks for me. Hope to see more of your articles in the future!!! I make my own extracts when I can. I'm in the process of making some DIY cocoa extract - vodka and cocoa powder - going to keep it going for 6 months - so far, after 2 months tastes...
