I am right up the road from you. I've kind of gotten away from brewing but the last couple of years I grew cascade, centennial and fuggles all with great success. Got some hops from a guy in Bremerton a few years back. Massive quantities. You have to remember it really doesn't rain as...

    Efficiency 30.87%!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Part of the issue is your process. There is a lot of I think I did this, I sort of guessed here, I'm not sure what I did there. It's a really good idea for at least the first few AG brews to follow a step by step checklist. Certain things like water amounts, temperatures, etc... are...

    Citra Hops- Commercial brews?

Just picked up some Widmer Sunburn tonight. I'll have to report back later on the Citra hops.

    Online File Storage

Nothing other than being time consuming. 40G of pics is going to take a long time. Still, I might just do it.

    Online File Storage

I've thought about it and currently have an external hard drive that is almost full. I haven't moved it to a different location yet, but there is my concern with a device. Finding another place to store it. I suppose my biggest concern is fire, and with the pics on an online server somewhere...

    Online File Storage

Looking for recommendations for online file storage, specifically for digital photos. I haven't cleaned up my pictures in a long time and it's a long term task, but I have about 40G of pictures that I want to have backed-up. Looking for an affordable option. Thanks.

    Official HBT Meatloaf Thread.

No but that really is a good idea. If I brew again sometime, I'll have to try it. Very simple idea. I like it. Sometimes I go crazy making meatloaf, and I should give a recipe like this a shot.

    Eliminating GOOGLE as search function

Could I interest you in a bridge? :D You never said who had to make the post!

    Eliminating GOOGLE as search function

Did some quick research on Startpage, the search site that the OP mentioned in his first post. They had some data compromise issues in the past and now claim that they don't store the IP address of searches anymore. So they had the technology to do it in the past, they say they don't do it...

    Eliminating GOOGLE as search function

So there is a simple solution to this whole thing. If you are worried about Google finding out what you are searching for on this site or any other, don't use Google. Also do NOT use any of the other major search engines out there either. Better yet, since it doesn't take you using a search...

    Eliminating GOOGLE as search function

Oh yeah! Let me summarize that news article for you. Woops, accidentally got a hold of some unsecured personal data. We want help to figure out how to get rid of it. Where is the conspiracy here? I thought this thread had died. Guess not. Anyhow, I'd be more worried about...

How often to check mill gap?

Honestly the difference between 90% efficiency and 83% efficiency is probably process related vice mill gap related. Maybe something different in the recipe, a miscalculation in the measurement, etc... I wouldn't even sweat it. On the same note if you notice a continued downward trend, then...

    "Disabled ads"???

You aren't going to get banned or censored for not being happy with a policy unless you get defiantly vocal about it. On the same note, if you don't like the ads or the reminders to upgrade, there is only one way to fix it.

5lb co2 tank drained - not halfway through one keg

Although some people claim it is not necessary, when I was kegging I liked using a small bit of teflon tape on every threaded connection.

    Dark IPA?

There isn't an official style for dark IPA's yet. However there is an un-official style known as Cascadian Dark Ale. If your beer is an IPA other than color, it's better off just to call it an IPA especially if sharing. That way people will know what to expect. There are some related...

5lb co2 tank drained - not halfway through one keg

Is the take actually empty, or just reading near the red line. Even fresh C02 tanks will read lower than actual pressure when cold. If you have no gas left then you definitely have a leak some where. First place to check is where the regulator attaches to the tank. There should be a...

    New Belgium In General

New Belgium does contract brewing for Elysian Brewing in Seattle. Some of Elysian's bottled beers are made at NB.

    IPA's... what's the draw?

My thought is that IPA's are the hot pepper and sour patch kids of the beer world. Some people like to push the envelope when it comes to food, some people like to push the envelope when it comes to beer. Not sure if there is a direct corellation between people who like extreme foods and...

    New Belgium In General

I personally have nothing against them. They do seem to have a common flavor with many of their beers, but they turn out some good really good brews as well. Pretty much all breweries seem the same way to me. Some good beer, some bad beer.

Armageddon (not the fun kind, the ben aflec kind)

Some of my favorite movie quotes of all time are from that flick.
