SS Brew Bucket questions before ordering

That's not a bad price. I just bought the SSBrew and got it this week. I used it for the first time last night and so far I love it. The one advantage I see over the alternative you linked would be, the collection of wort during fermentation. That racking arm is really cool feature. Having...

    Hello from MN

Hi Folks, I forgot to introduce myself as of yet. I'm still trying to learn my around these parts and I apologize in advance if I've posted in some wrong threads. My name is Rob, I live in MN. I grew up in Slidell, Louisiana. I'm in my late 40's, married, 2 kids. I have several...

To keg or not to keg??

@Ariza-Poet do a combination of bottles and growlers to start. After a couple of years of bottles, I decided to go kegs, one at time. I now have 4 kegs, 6 glass growlers and 3 Stainless steel growlers. I'm never bottling again but I think everyone needs to experience it. Consider it a...

    Bent Paddle 14° ESB Clone

Hi all, to preface this.. I searched the forum (Internet too) Bent Paddle Clone, 14 Degree Clone, BP 14 Degree Clone.. and couldn't find it through search. (Learned something about cloning red bearded snipe though, on my 3rd beer, but that's another story. ;) Anyhoo, I went to the BP site...

    Final gravity issue

Hahaha, WTF? No wonder my beers are stuck always at 1.03! I kept calibrating and calibrating and waiting and waiting.. Seriously didn't know that. Man I feel like a goof ball! haha, wow. I am so glad I read the forum and some of the information does get retained. ;)

    Blichmann Top Tier Burner Review

@DevilDog2000 This one is bang on! Very precise! I've had three burners prior, mostly hand built and one Bayou Jet, none of them can be dialed in like this one out of the box. I will add a battery igniter to mine soon, but the flame access holes, (which are in close proximity to the jets)...

    Ohio Pin lock sockets

Click the circle with the arrow up symbol. That'll give you a paper clip icon to attach an image from your device. Or hit the IMG icon if you have a hosting URL. Hope that helps. [emoji6]

    Help!

That's 68f for those in the US. Sounds like you got a handle on it. Hurricane sounds like an awesome IPA. Let us know how it turns out. On the timing, that will depend on how your yeast did converting the sugar. I wouldn't move it unless it's below say 1.02. That's just me though. I've gotten...

    Connecticut Blichmann Floor Standing Burner

These things are heavy as a lead arse! [emoji6] Even if you don't live close to this one, I wouldn't hesitate buying one. It was a game changer for my brew day. Carry on, GLWS OP!

    Why do you hate brewing?

Save a few bottles and keg the rest. Your back will thank you! [emoji6] I used to live in Slidell and I visit frequently so I know that oppressive heat. To top that off it's probably raining when you go to brew so you can't put the burner just outside the garage. I just switched to the...

Need recipe recommendation for Belgian IPA

Hi MSA, I just tried one from Minneapolis called West Side by Harriet Brewing and I loved it! http://www.harrietbrewing.com/beer/west-side/ I was going to try and search for a recipe and I did find one. I'll try and post it when I get to a PC later this morning. Meanwhile, Midwest Brewing does...

SS washer hose VS. CPVC/Copper mash tun

For what it's worth, I would suggest a coil of braided hose with a SS spring inside of it. The longer the better. Coil it up like a snake. Best of both worlds IMHO.

    Winter Brewing

That is skiing weather! ;) I have a wort chiller and I run the discharge line outside under the garage door. I left it outside for minute, turned on the water and the hose exploded (frozen line) within a minute or two. Luckily no one got hurt. It's too cold. I'll just stick to chilling...
