    Nothing exciting

Yes, and thank you. I had thought about it, but your thread inspired me to get off my a$$ and do it. Also, I would have had 3ft tubes and left bottles on the ground to fill up. I am bottling Sunday.

but I saw it the other day and I'm about to bottle 100 beers so I spent $7 to double my production.

I just dropped a measuring tape into my beer

MY O-ring fell in when I was putting the air lock on and I reached in there to get it. Beer was fine.

    Bottle comparisons...TIA

I got ahead of myself and have 5 gallons bottled and 10 gallons that will need to be bottled next Wednesday. By need, I mean I WANT my beer sooner than later. Should I get: EZ cap or REG cap bottles? Should I get 22oz or 32oz? Blue or Amber? I am still a ways away from kegging due...

What happens if you don't get a good boil?

I was wondering the same thing, I couldn't get a good boil before cleaning my fryer. Did two brews on it and am eagerly waiting a month to see if I messed up. I'm glad it takes that long...not. Need some support and reassurance. I did a wheat beer.

My fryer is turning everything black

Well, after taking the ONE bolt that holds it all together, I took some steel wool, wire brush, boiling soapy water, and baking soda did the trick. I feel like I can actually get water boiling now. I've had to sacrifice the post extract temperatures do to time constrants. Thanks for the...

My fryer is turning everything black

I can crank the flame way up and still get that orange/yellow flame. How can I clean out the burner. I poured bleach down the holes and it came out the screen where you can limit the flow of air or propane, I'm not sure which. Thanks for the help and keep it comin.

    No boil kit?

I was doing a 5 gallon boil and I probably topped it off a bit anticipating some boil off. However, Between the time it takes to get boiling with that much water and not having much room to the top, I might drop to around 4 gallons and top it off at the end. I have your regular turkey fryer...

    No boil kit?

I boiled last week and didn't get it all the way up to what must people would call a boil, after adding the extract. I know the temp was up real close, but was never boiling hard. Is this going to make a difference.

First Post: Built my own wort chiller

I was spending $50 at lowes and never getting more than a trickle. It was taking way to long to cool, I thought because the flow was not strong enough. I brewed last night and got down to 80 in 14 minutes.

    Using dry yeast

I didn't top it off with water. I boiled all 5 gallons. And I took the hydrometer reading before I poured the wort into the fermenting bucket. So, with no top off and having already taken a hydrometer reading, will it affect the outcome of my beer. I usually do follow the instructions pretty...

    Using dry yeast

Does it matter if you sprinkle the yeast at the bottom of your fermenting bucket before you poor your wort in. I did that last night and wasn't sure if that would effect my beer.

    Using dry yeast

Does it really matter if you sprinkle it on top or sprinkle it on bottom before you poor your beer into the fermenting bucket. Obviously, I didn't sprinkle it on top and want to know if I messed everything up???

First Post: Built my own wort chiller

I was trying the pond pump for a while, but after buying the right sized copper, I couldn't spend the money on a pump good enough. It us in my future though.

Do you remember the first time you brewed

and how you came home every day to watch the air lock bubble and after bottling you had to tell your wife to hide the beers and do whatever it takes not to tell you where they were!
