    Mr.beer fermenting question

    I agree, I doubt it's carbonated. Unless your fermenter is broke, which would have probaly exploded if it was. Leave it in for another week, the beer will come out clearer. And adding the sugar and syrup is fine.

If I saw any temp drop from opening the lid, I just added a little boiling water. It seemed to work...

    Oh I see, I was only looking at the organic 2-row. My bad. The Rahr grains are priced more reasonably, especially if you buy such a big bag. It's still a bit more expensive if you shop in smaller quantities, but not double.

    Why is Northern Brewers grains twice the price of Midwest's grains? Northern's are an organic brand name, but are they really worth twice as much? Anyone brewed with both for a comparison?

    Which is worse for a fermenting beer? A constant temp which is too high, or a temp which changes often? I am brewing in a new apartment and my fermenter is at 76 degrees. I have been trying different methods to cool it down. This is resulting in temperature fluctuations, up and down. Just...
